Hi Oscar, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all began when we had little to no income coming to the household, a single mother with 3 kids—barely making enough to get us through the year. I met an old friend in my junior year who got me into the moving business. The workout I felt and the joy I saw on the customer’s faces being moved into their dream houses were like no other. Then and there, I decided what I wanted to do. For 8 years, I put my dreams of starting a moving company on hold for many personal reasons. I always felt I didn’t need help managing a business or the work. I joined many work crews, became crew leader for several moving companies, and overcame many obstacles. Meanwhile, those 8 years passed by, and I perfected my craft. I learned the ups and downs of this business. I pushed myself to get my LLC. Now, finally, I’m 8 months in and couldn’t be more ready to go on this journey.

Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road for me, unfortunately. Sometimes, even though you plan things or try to avoid them, there will be mistakes. My main struggle was a support system encouraging me to follow my dreams and passion.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was the older brother out of the 3. I grew up just wanting a better future for my family. I arrived in North Carolina in 2011 from Galveston, TX. I have always liked helping others who needed help—always smiling. I just stayed trying to see the good things when bad things happened.
