Today we’d like to introduce you to Dulce Soria
Hi Dulce, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I used to be in the medical field but have always had a love for the beauty industry. In 2017 I decided to take a lash course for fun. I began to practice on family and friends. Slowly i began to see more people interested and decided to quit my career and enroll in school for esthetics. I absolutely loved it. I began working for an amazing mentor that was kind enough to guide me. I took a leap of faith and opened up a small salon, La Dolce Víta lash skin & beauty, in 2019. I quickly outgrew my small salon within 4 years. In 2023 I decided to expanded into my first store front salon.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s definitely had its ups and down. Being a first family generation Latina entrepreneur has not been easy. Learning all the business ins and outs has had it’s difficulty but it has been a very humbling and rewarding process.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an esthetician and lash artist. I have been a lash artist for over 7 years it’s a very rewarding career enhancing women’s beauty. I am mostly know for my realism lash extensions, this is the process of creating a very natural lash set, where people have to question if they are real or extensions. I am extremely proud of how far I have came running a solo business and constantly learning and evolving to become better at my craft.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
When i began i had a mentor that i worked under and I thank a lot of my success to her. I recommend working under someone that is hiring to begin, this will help show you the process of how everything works and how a business is ran effectively. A mentor will guide you and help you have a foot in the door of the beauty industry. We don’t know everything and constantly have to continue to learn from my experience people in our profession.
