Today, we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Cheek.
Hi Jennifer, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I started doing hair out of necessity. Thinning and alopecia run in my family, so it is something that I felt a deep connection to finding a solution.
I have always loved being able to provide my clients with solutions for their hair needs. My hair extension line was conceived from the desire to share my hair experience with others.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road to building the Jen Cheek Luxury Extension Studio has been a journey. Building a business, particularly from a small seed of a dream, can often be full of stumbling blocks.
I have been fueled by my passion for learning. Mistakes have always been viewed as discoveries, mostly about myself and the potential in my ability to create new pathways along the rocky roads of growth.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar with what you do, what can you tell them about what you do?
My work is my ministry. I specialize in working with clients through extension methods and techniques to cultivate confidence and courage that goes beyond the chair.
Healthy hair provides me the platform by which I develop new ways of approaching extension techniques and trends. It is the foundation of my business. Extension methods don’t work for each client in the same way, but they provide a solution for everyone.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory was getting my hair braided. I hated the process of getting my hair done, but my mom would put beads on the ends of my hair after the braids were finished, and it was like they would come to life!
The sound and weight of the beads made my braids feel much more fun! I will never forget the feeling of waking up excited to see my hair!
