Today we’d like to introduce you to Tania Lasenburg.
Hi Tania, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Funny enough my story isn’t complicated but maybe emotional. Like most during the stay at home orders, I found myself with time and I wanted to fill that time with things I can control, which was and is my family’s eating and drinking habits. GoodRiverxo started as Harvestxo, a juice company. My family loves a nice beverage and I was tired of spending so much money on juice each week. I did a few markets, had various orders but it wasn’t exactly what I wanted to do. So I started looking up natural alternatives to overall health. My Parents were very into natural alternatives when I was growing up, so it felt natural to get into it. I had also just experienced one of the biggest loss of my life and that was my son, Zaire . He was born prematurely and did not make it. So I needed some form of control and juicing wasn’t enough. I wanted to honor Zaire and ultimately his little little sister and brother. GoodRiverxo was born to say the least July 2023.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has not been smooth and most of that is due to imposter syndrome.
This led to some discussions to not be made and did lead to some missed opportunities. Shoot, I almost decided not to do this interview, because I was so in my head (lol).
Not feeling as if your passion, your ideas, creativity, beliefs are not good enough to be out there in the world can really do a number on you.
Another struggle is and was being self- funded, while having full-time employment and being a wife and mother; all of this does add a level of stress, no one exactly prepares you for.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about GoodRiverxo also known as Apothecary by GoodRiverXo?
Everything we make is vetted, made and labeled by hand. Our most popular items have been our magnesium lotion, our Rosehip and Calendula body oil and lastly our Butterfly Arnold Palmer tea blend.
While we make tinctures for headaches, immunity and anxiety, we also make balms, lotions and capsules.
What set us apart from everyone else is we are simple. Our ingredients are easy to understand, easy to read and not complicated in the least. While we can add a bunch of different herbs, leaves etc we don’t feel it is necessary. Nice and easy takes care of people and that is what we want to do.
What I want readers to know is herbal health is not an immediate fix. It take consistency, but also a life style change; mentally and physically.
What are your plans for the future?
Our plans for the future is to provide our products for those in need through a mobile store. We are striving to also do a zero waste brick and mortar apothecary.
We also are planning consultations as well as eventually developing a community garden.
We are super excited for the future because we have plans!
