Today we’d like to introduce you to Saul Felipe Romero Robles

Hi Saul Felipe, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started in April 2020. I had lost my job due to the pandemic and when my birthday came around, some friends gave me $50. When they said goodbye to me, they asked me when they could eat Venezuelan arepas and that was the spark that lit up in my brain. I invested those $50 and they turned into $80, then those $80 turned into $150 and I haven’t stopped since. That’s how Lipe’s Food began.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No! Not at all! It has been a constant struggle to remain in time and occupy a space. Along the way we have realized that we must offer a memorable gastronomic experience, an experience that satisfies people’s nutritional needs but that also touches the hearts of those who taste our food.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My work is framed in the food industry. I am responsible for keeping a typical and 100% Venezuelan food business afloat. Part of my responsibility and pride is to be able to safeguard the culinary tradition of my country and also to project its delicious flavors among Venezuelan emigrants who live in the triangle and also for the diverse multicultural population of the United States. It is a task of great responsibility but with effort and care, love and dedication we are achieving it.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I never cease to be surprised; every reaction and recognition that people give me is an explosion of joy in my heart that drives me to keep going. I am very sentimental and knowing and understanding that through food we are serving people is something that constantly impacts and pleases me.
