Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Spinoccia

Hi Alex, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
It all started as I began my exercise science degree for undergraduate studies as I decided to, at the same time, get my personal training certificate as well. As I continued my degree, I explored different avenues of fitness and accumulated multiple other certifications that broadened my knowledge base. After finishing school, I knew I wanted to help people with my hands and elected to pursue chiropractic; knowing that one day I wanted to open my own practice. I moved from New York last year; and here I am now running a sports chiropractic clinic inside of a wonderful gym in the heart of downtown Raleigh.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothings ever smooth in business. The ups and downs always will give most people a feeling of anxiety but; that’s what makes everything worth it. Having to wear the “multiple hats” as a business owner and juggle different responsibilities is also a new feeling. However, it has taught me how to get more organized and focused on what needs to be taken care of.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I pride myself on the fact that I spend atleast half hour, to one hour with my patients. I am out of network with insurances but take HSA/FSA. I utilize, in every session, soft/deep tissue work, cupping, muscle scraping, spinal manipulation and exercise.
I am also most proud to share a space with the best gym in the region, “Olympus Athletic Club”. To have an office in such a high level facility puts me in a position to be surrounded by amazing, highly driven people. It is wonderful to have access to all of the equipment as I work with my patients day to day.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Patience; this is the single most important trait i believe any business owner should have. We all want results fast, we want EVERYONE to know where we are but; we have to have patience and build trust in the community first.
