Mad Dash Weddings is an all-inclusive, boutique style planning service specializing in intimate micro weddings, modern elopements, and pop-up ceremonies. This bodacious, alternative concept offers scaled down, hand-crafted ceremonies and receptions that are intimate, genuine, and completely focused on the marrying couple. A Mad Dash wedding quaintly celebrates the union of two individuals and the passionate love between them, ignoring the fuss, opinions, and requests of everyone else.
While micro wedding concepts have become more popular over the past few years, Mad Dash has been producing mini wedding magic since 2016. Shortly after opening the Leslie-Alford Mims House in 2015 (a historic wedding venue in Holly Springs), I (owner) developed a strong desire to host weddings that were couple-centered vs guest focused, rooted in love vs social status, and ones in which the couple celebrated with close family/friends vs strangers/distant relatives. I wanted to offer engaged couples a concept that would guarantee a stress-free, affordable, beautifully designed wedding that featured the best of the best local wedding vendors and ensured a remarkable planning experience. I envisioned a unique, curated concept that would present couples the option of a wedding without the typical financial and emotional investment and broke wedding planning traditions.
Having previously produced pop-up events for my catering company (Belle’s Catering), I found myself reflecting on the easability, affordability, success and satisfaction that these style of all-inclusive catering events ensured for clients, guests and participating vendors. I wondered if the same method of planning and event production could somehow be applied to weddings so that the results were the same. Could I make pop-up weddings a thing? Was a pop-up style wedding the key to bringing my money, sanity and love saving wedding concept to life? After a bit more brain storming, research and delicately pitching my ideas to a few colleagues and friends, I was confident in my ability to bring my vision to fruition. And thus, Mad Dash Weddings was born!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Because Mad Dash is such a unique concept and incomparable style of wedding planning, it sometimes takes a bit more effort and time pitching, explaining and detailing the process and meaning of a Mad Dash wedding. Potential clients want to ensure that despite relinquishing planning responsibilities, vendor vetting and detail selection, their wedding will still be designed according to their style preferences, still be a reflection of their love story, and still present personal touches throughout the wedding itself.
To ensure inquiring clients that their Mad Dash wedding will be perfectly personalized, collaboratively planned, stunningly styled and promises a remarkable experience from start to finish, we try to offer as much information both digitally and in person as possible. Every inquiring couple receives a detailed LookBook that provides extensive information on who and what Mad Dash is, thoroughly defines all of our packages, offerings and itemizes inclusions, outlines customization options, explores FAQs and clarifies popular inquisitions, and provides a petite portfolio of professional imagery reflecting past Mad Dash events. Upon review, an inquiring Mad Dash client can schedule an in person consultation and tour of the venue in which we get to know the space and each other more! After exploring the space and collecting notes on desired package, customization requests, budget, wedding day details and logistics from the couple, we create a personalized, detailed proposal unique to their event for their review. During the decision making process, we keep ourselves available via phone, text and email so that we can answer any questions couples may have in a timely fashion.

Couples who understand that a marriage comes after the wedding day, who prioritize investing in travel, a home or future endeavors together vs on a singular wedding day, and who want a wedding where their love isn’t lost in a circus of a show deserve to have a beautiful wedding without compromising these standards. Creating budget-friendly, beautiful, memorable weddings for financially-savvy couples matters most to me in my career.
The wedding industry can be brutal for business owners. Aside from the mental, emotional and physical stress clients, the planning process and wedding/event days induce, small business owners face an immense amount of stress, worry, anxiety, inadequacy, fear and so very much more each and every day. Without the love and support of my family, there is no doubt I would have failed as an entrepreneur a long time ago. My family keeps me grounded, encourages me through fear and keeps me motivated for the future. They’re constantly lighting my candle during times of self-doubt, reminding me of how far I’ve come when I’m not sure of where I’ll go. My husband, children, sisters and mother are what matter most in my life.
