Community Highlights: Meet Timothy Knight of TK Media Productions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Timothy Knight

Hi Timothy , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I got my start working with the camera in college, when I attended North Carolina Central University in 2016! I worked with educational entities on campus, sports teams filming various video content and production work, working on special creative projects and even a documentary as well. My mom actually bought my first camera for me for my birthday, the summer before I graduated from college. Once I graduated in 2019, I began my journey as a freelance videographer, traveling to different high schools and colleges mostly for free, filming mainly basketball and football, but also filmed other sports from time to time. I gained traction on social media on my sports instagram page and I’ve loved to see the growth within my skillset and the growing connections with business partners, clients, players, parents and fans of sports alike! Later, I then began to create music videos and doing creative projects with businesses as well, just to versify what I can do behind the camera. I am a story teller and that is one of the reasons why I love what I do! Even when I first started my journey, my camera has been able to take me many places, helped me to meet many people (and has also gotten me a lot of free food). Coming up to this point, I’ve really been able to focus on what I want to pursue and accomplish within my career and my media business. This process has definitely came with time. I know my why’s for what I do, what interest me and also where I can be the most valuable so I can be able to help others.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been a roller coaster for sure. There have been many up’s and down’s, but isn’t that what makes roller coasters fun? I’ve had my shares of struggles. Financial struggles making money, just knowing exactly what I want to pursue, learning the skill, learning how to do business and even just being confident within myself. One thing I can say is when your dreams are big and you have major goals, nothing will come easy. Growth is a process that can mentally and physically tear you apart. But without growth and experience, you won’t have “great” results. I’m so thankful and grateful for everything that’s happened to me in my life because there is always a lesson in every win and in every loss. My mindset and habits were some things that gave me many struggles. Sometimes “The Problem” is really you, you know? Sometimes you have to really take a look in the mirror. I am still learning, but I am grateful for the position I am in, and I know that God has a continued plan for me to be able to make a impact with the skills that he has blessed me with!

The name of my business is TK Media Productions. It is a media company specializing in video & photography for businesses & sports entities. With businesses, we focus on providing services like brand stories, short and long form videos for marketing and digital media content that will bring more views, consumers and generate more revenue for businesses by building their statue on the media and marketing side of things! Within sports, we focus on working with high schools, colleges or sports entities, providing video content services for digital media platforms and creating story-telling content for those entities as well! TK Media Productions also specializes in Event Video Recaps and Event Photography. Customer Service is our #1 goal and we ensure that you will receive that, that is what sets us apart. We are all about the experience that is created, not only from the business side, but on the relationship side as well! The thing I am the most proud of is the growth within quality of content, and knowledge that’s been gained from the experience in the field. How do you define success?
Success in my eyes is being able to wake up and do all the things that I want to do. Having the power to use my time in the ways that I want to. Being able to help and pour into others from a knowledgeable standpoint and lightening the load for others. Success is when you are able to be happy within yourself and what you do. Being able to give to others and establish the right friendships and connections that you need within life. Being able to be a light to others, and being open to receiving the blessings that God gives to you. I am so very appreciative of whoever nominated me to be on this great platform, and to share my business and my story. I hope to be able to connect with many more people and to help others as much as I can!
