Hi Justin, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hey there! I’m Justin, and I kicked off this journey back in 2005 when I was just 24. I started a local quarterly lifestyle magazine for Leland, NC, called **North Brunswick Magazine**. Picture this: me, with a paper mock-up from my printer, going around town explaining my “vision” to everyone. From that humble beginning, our company has grown and added more titles over the years:

– South Brunswick Magazine
– Discovery Map of Brunswick County, NC
– Discovery Map of Wilmington, NC
– Brunswick New Homes & Real Estate
– Wilmington Today
– Topsail Magazine
– SPT OKI Magazine

Believe it or not, I started this company out of my house. I used to sort mail in my living room, filling bins to take to the post office for our direct mail campaigns. I’ve worked out of my garage, coffee shops—you name it, I’ve probably been there!

The best part about what we do? Our clients. Meeting so many different people from various walks of life makes every day unpredictable and exciting.

Our philosophy hasn’t changed a bit: we aim to produce the highest quality product at the best cost for our clients, focusing on hyper-local content. We absolutely love each of the communities we publish in and take our role seriously in delivering top-notch content.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been smooth sailing. That first edition I ever published was a real challenge. Being a young person trying to create something from scratch came with a ton of obstacles. You have to follow through on your promises and earn the trust of your community.

Even though I love what I do, there are still challenges every single day. One tough but essential lesson I’ve learned is that you just can’t please everyone.
