Rising Stars: Meet Shakirah Scott of Raleigh, North Carolina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shakirah Scott

Hi Shakirah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
From a young age, I was exposed to the fascinating world of visual media, and it wasn’t long before I realized that I wanted to pursue a career in the creative industry. I grew up creating small films and recording YouTube videos and later became the media director at The Way Church International.

I am now the founder of Ultra Media Productions, Where We Create With Passion and Excellence. I’ve always loved anything to do with being creative. I am a Raleigh NC-based graphic designer, video creator, photographer, and more.

I’ve had the chance to work on several projects, but I am always looking for new opportunities to develop my skill set. Get in touch for additional information about my past work, and current projects, or to start a new one.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In the process of growth, struggle is an inevitable part of the journey. It’s not always going to be sunshine and blue skies. For me, this journey has involved self-reflection, victories, the loss of friendships and relationships, triumphs, financial challenges here and there, self-discovery, and numerous of valuable life lessons. Despite the difficulties, I’ve come to realize that the positives far outweigh the negatives.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am the CEO of Ultra Media Productions, Where We Create With Passion and Excellence. I’ve always loved anything to do with being creative. I am a Raleigh NC-based graphic designer, video creator, photographer, and more.

I take the greatest pride in my God-given ability to create and bring together intricate details harmoniously. Whether it’s designing a requested graphic or crafting a video outline for an upcoming video recording, I love using my skills to bring my clients’ visions to life. I believe this attention to detail is what distinguishes me from others. While many focus on the final product, I understand that the true magic lies in the details.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
No one becomes who they are without the help of those around them. I have so many people to thank for shaping me into the person I am today. First and foremost, I’m deeply grateful to God. This journey has been far from easy, but His presence has been a constant source of strength and guidance.

I must express my heartfelt thanks to my mother, Letisha Scott, for her unwavering faith, and my father, Marcus Scott Sr., for being my biggest supporter and helping me navigate my blind spots. To all 10 of my siblings—yes, 10—I am grateful:

Talia, for being a beautiful example of a virtuous young woman.
Marcus, for your ambitious spirit.
Tanesha, for your encouraging words.
Ben, for your wisdom.
Moriah, for your comedic relief.
Madelyn, for your bright and creative thoughts.
Bryson and Sean, for your honesty.
Savannah and Eden, for your warmest hugs.
And a special mention to Milo, for leaving his fur everywhere, Max, for your continuous barks and my turtle, Myrtle Franklin, for just existing.

I also want to extend my deepest gratitude to my mentor, Tiffany Bargeman, CEO and Founder of Friendpreneurship LLC. Her support has been monumental—answering every call, pitching in financially, providing brilliant ideas, and being there through both my lowest and highest moments. Celebrating both the big and small wins with her has been a true privilege.

Finally, I must give a shoutout to my church, The Way Church International, located in Wendell, NC. It was here that my love for the world of media first ignited. I love my church family and The Way Media! You guys rock!
