Today we’d like to introduce you to Arvelyn Almeda
Arvelyn , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Arvelyn hails from the beautiful country known as the Pearl of the Orient Seas, the Philippines.
She’s skilled in composing songs, writing poems, sketching, and of course her favorite, painting—all of which fill her daily life with joy and satisfaction.
“I’ve always enjoyed sketching and painting. As a teenager, I’d compete with my peers in college, and I always won. After graduating from college, I decided to work in Dubai as a marketing executive. I worked there for 8 years and I thought I’d never touch a paintbrush again. But my coworkers nominated me for a painting competition, and I didn’t disappoint them as I won the grand prize.
Upon arriving in the U.S. got married to my supportive and loving husband, where I now live with my 3 children and pregnant with my 4th, I realized my desire to paint had not wavered. I was dedicated to my dream and, with my husband’s support, I decided to embark on this new venture to do what I truly love.
It’s a great honor to share my vision and God-given talent with the world, and in so doing give glory, honor, and thanksgiving to the most creative creator I know—our Maker!” I also share my blessings to people that are needy, and support animal shelters when I am receiving blessings or any projects.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My husband is a big help for me all the way, whenever I have a commission art and have to be submitted on time i get help from my husband to take care our kids. A little struggle every time I am pregnant because I cannot focus sometimes and sometimes of mood swings and hormone changes.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
“I enjoy painting landscapes, portraits, and abstract art. I enjoy using acrylics as I love bold colors.” My work is bright, vibrant, and vivid, but sometimes it can be dark and intense. It relates deeply to what is happening in the world, and reflects my way of appreciating nature and its natural beauty.” The French artist Sonia Delaunay has had great influence on my work.” I am not creating arts just because of my passion, my love and my hobby… I am contributing a piece of colors to everyone to make them feel happy, I remember the last commission I painted was a fur baby of a beautiful couple from Raleigh North Carolina, when I sent them the art they texted that they cried, tears of joy looking at their little one, they told me it is a magical feeling. That’s the best reward for me, that i can able to share my talent and be a blessing as well.
