Hi James, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Phoenix 3d laser printing is a veteran owned and operated business. I retired back in 2015 with no idea of what my next chapter would be. Like many veterans I spent months just wandering around the house fixing stuff to stay busy and to be honest not all of it needed to be fixed. One night I stumbled across a laser engraving company advertisement. Well, I thought about it for a couple weeks before I committed to the hobby. Long story short, that hobby turned into a 3 CO2 Laser machines and a fiber laser. We are going strong just coming up on our 6-year anniversary. We also support our local rescue here in Raeford called Second Chance Rescue and Sanctuary. One way we try to support their great efforts is by donating 50% of all proceeds made from pet related items. We have some great friends and mentors, so we also support their charities as well by donating items for auctions or just our time handing out meals, cloths or just being there for good conversations. It’s all good memories.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like every small business you have your struggles. But if you let those struggles keep you down you won’t succeed. I have come too far to let that happen. Most common struggles are making sure you always have something new and different don’t follow trends not all trends lead to success. Our biggest struggle right now is getting our own shop, it is so hard for a small business to start up when prices are high. Like I said in the beginning, we won’t let that stop us from growing. We have a plan!

This is a veteran owned and operated business. We specialize in custom engraving on a variety of materials and products, to include but not limited to jewelry, frame art, tile, slate, leather, acrylic, wood, portraits, metals and household decor. Our most popular Items is our live edge engravings. What sets us apart from others is our quality and time frame we can have some custom jobs back within 2 days of ordering.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I will tell you it’s always good to have luck on your side and we have been lucky. But I feel it’s more than just luck. Its the hard work, late hours and the dedication to your business and to your customers is what makes you successful. You can’t just sit back and wait around for luck to come knocking.
