Daily Inspiration: Meet Juana Martinez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Juana Martinez

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Our building company started at the kitchen table during a casual dinner night conversation. We were both in our 20’s full of dreams and aspirations. We bounced the idea of building homes and convinced ourselves it was possible. At the time, “we” was my husband Jose and I, Juana. In 2018 we became licensed and Spring 2019, our first house quickly sold.

On the other end, my uncle Bulmaro was getting ready to retire and enjoy the fruits of decades of labor. He had been building for a while too and wanted to significantly slow down and one do one or two builds a year.

Fast forward to 2021, I called him and we joined forces. Summer 2021 Lilium Homes was born.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been an adventure. Learning along the way and trying to balance the delicatesse of building a different house while still maintaining it appealing to the general public and building it within budget.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the most proud if setting an example for my girls. Letting them see that you set your own limits and that if you work hard for your dreams, they can become realities.

I believe thinking as a mom/wife/woman sets me apart. I see houses as homes where families live. That vision allows me to think of ways that will make it flow for a family, And of course we can’t compromise on style,

How do you think about luck?
I believe in that quote that says lucks is when opportunity and preparation meet.
