Today we’d like to introduce you to Jewel Smith

Hi Jewel, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hello, I started cooking at 4 years old. I would pull a chair up to stove because I was to short to reach it lol. In 2017 That Gyrl Catering became an LLC. Before then I was catering and bartending for birthday parties, weddings, and baby showers for friends and family. Now I have a lot more customers that I am truly blessed and thankful for. I do all this for my children to be able to leave them a legacy.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
At first it was a smooth road, but with the pandemic and the price inflation on food cost has really put a strain on the last four years.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am full service event caterer, offering a wide pallet of food and services, including delivery, on-site bartending and much more. Whether you are planning for a bridal shower, anniversary, or corporate holiday party i’ve got your covered. There is no event too big or too small for us to lend a helping hand.
We cater to a wide range of needs for personal, small business,and corporate events.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Seeing the joy I bring to my customer. Bringing their visions to life is all worth the hours it takes.
