Today we’d like to introduce you to Vernita Edwards

Hi Vernita, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my business during a time when I had an opportunity to to help people in need,. This was during a time of uncertainty and unfamiliar territories. By the grace of God I was able to make surgical bonnets for the local hospital here, as well as masks for the homeless. While exploring these gifts and talents a business was born.

I was able to customize masks and bonnets for people and I found that I really enjoyed serving people and changing lives one person at a time along the way.

Once I was able to master sewing and creating the necessity items needed I expanded my business to making custom items such as different types of apparel such as T-shirts, Tumblers, Mugs, Towels, Jewelry etc.

Now I enjoy helping small business owners, Schools and families with branding items for businesses and families. No request is to big or small we are here to serve in any capacity that is needed.

Owning a business and managing a business is a full time job.

I am now at a point in my business where the hard work and dedication are beginning to pay off. I will continue to give my all and help as many people as I can so that business owners and families their vision to life.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The struggles that I have faced is funding. While having a business is a wonderful situation to be in it does not come without financial struggles.

As the saying goes “You have to spend money to make money” My question is what if you are not making enough money to spend and put back into your business? Well this happened to me, I had to learn and appreciate and understand the value of my products.

I had to learn to price my products correctly and not just give the products away so that I could actually make a profit.

I also had to learn that every customer is not your customer. I had to learn my customer base and my niche.
social media presence and getting into the right rooms with the right people.

I am learning how to apply for grants to help fund my company.

What makes you happy?
My family is my happy place, I love spending time with my children, grandchildren and husband. I also enjoy being involved in service. I enjoy helping others and love volunteering with my church and community organizations. It is my passion to help!
