Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Goode
Hi Ashley, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey started with a spiritual awakening and the process of unlearning a lot of religious indoctrination while deconstructing Christianity. As I worked through healing religious and childhood trauma, I began to see glimpses of who I could be without the weight of triggers and trauma responses.
Connecting with my ancestors and exploring my roots through Hoodoo and other African spiritual practices helped me get in touch with the true essence of who I am. From there, I found healing through Reiki, meditation, and yoga, which brought me a sense of peace and purpose.
That purpose became clear: to help others on their healing journeys. I started Asha’s Garden as a safe space for people like me—those who desire healing but may not yet have the tools to begin. My goal is to provide the guidance and support they need to reconnect with themselves, their ancestors, and their spiritual paths.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road hasn’t been smooth—healing never is. I had to face a lot of my own stuff, including ego deaths, deep-seated fears, and releasing relationships that no longer served me. One of the hardest parts was the isolation I experienced during my shadow work process. It was a lonely time, but I now understand that spirit was preparing me for the life I have today—a life where I can fully embrace a healthier version of myself, surrounded by an environment and support system that truly align with me.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Asha’s Garden is a sanctuary for healing, growth, and reconnection. I created this space to guide Black and brown women on their holistic healing journeys by helping them reconnect with their ancestors, spirit guides, and their truest selves. My work focuses on addressing generational wounds, releasing trauma, and empowering others to embrace their own spiritual and emotional transformations.
I specialize in a range of offerings, including ancestral readings, energy healing, and birth & death doula work. What sets Asha’s Garden apart is its deeply spiritual yet grounded approach—it’s a space where ancestral traditions meet modern healing practices. My goal is to meet each client where they are and provide personalized tools and techniques for self-discovery and healing.
What I’m most proud of is the safe and nurturing environment Asha’s Garden offers. It’s more than a business; it’s a community rooted in love, transformation, and support for those seeking to heal but may not have had access to these tools before. If there’s one thing I want readers to know, it’s that healing is possible, and Asha’s Garden is here to help you along the way.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was pretty much the same person I am today—quirky, unique, and unapologetically marching to the beat of my own drum. Looking back, I now understand that being neurodivergent played a big role in my experiences. It often made it harder for me to fit in, and I frequently felt like an outcast. But those differences shaped who I am and allowed me to embrace the beauty of standing out rather than trying to blend in.
I was also a very creative and ambitious child, always dreaming big and wanting to make a difference, even at a young age. I’ve always been deeply intuitive and in touch with my spiritual gifts, though I didn’t fully understand them back then. It’s amazing to reflect on how, after healing, I’ve been able to come home to my inner child and reconnect with the parts of me that always knew who I was meant to be.
