Life & Work with Christelle Wilson of Cary NC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christelle Wilson

Hi Christelle, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am Christelle, the owner of La Belle Vie Creations LLC. I was born in Togo, West Africa, and raised in Cary, NC. My passion is helping others, and I love engaging with and supporting women. Becoming a cosmetologist has allowed me to fulfill this passion by making women feel good about themselves. It is the best career I could have chosen.

I am also a firm believer in the power of resilience and self-care. After facing challenging times in my marriage, my husband and I worked through them together, with God in the center through it all, which inspired me to create the “Love Life After” podcast. Through this platform, I advocate for the idea that there is life after pain or struggle, and that self-care is the key to a beautiful life.
As a creator, there’s nothing I love more than using my craft to inspire and uplift others. Every style I design, every word I share, is with the intention of promoting self-love and confidence. We all deserve to feel empowered, to embrace who we are, and to show the world our inner beauty. Self-love is not just a buzzword, it’s a journey—one that I’m passionate about encouraging in each person I meet. It’s about honoring yourself and knowing your worth.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Every great journey has its twists and turns, and mine has been no exception. Being an entrepreneur, owning a salon, moving locations, creating a transformative hair and scalp oil, and even balancing family life while helping my children navigating their education, being a bonus mom, experiencing health challenges have all shaped me into who I am today. But was it a smooth road? Not at all.

Struggles have come in many forms. From the challenge of creating a safe, welcoming space for my clients while searching for a new salon location, to finding time to nurture my marriage amidst life’s chaos, every step has tested my resilience. At times, the weight of being a master stylist, business owner, and mother felt overwhelming.

But through these challenges, I’ve grown. I’ve learned to prioritize self-care, finding peace in meditation, walking, and moments of reflection. I’ve embraced the mantra: “I am a vessel of growth, strength, and love,” reminding myself that even in the hardest moments, I am capable of rising above.

The struggles have also deepened my passion for helping others. whether through my podcast, where I encourage self-discovery, sharing our stories, through my work, helping clients embrace their crowns. These moments of difficulty have fueled my desire to create, uplift, and inspire.

Life is rarely smooth, but it’s in the bumps that we discover our strength, creativity, and purpose. To anyone facing their own struggles, I want to say this: keep going. Every challenge is preparing you for something greater.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
How to Answer:

Luck Hmmmm
Both good and bad—has played an interesting role in my life and business. I don’t believe luck alone defines success, but it often opens or closes doors that push you to grow and adapt.

Bad luck has come in the form of challenges, like having to relocate my salon unexpectedly or navigating the ups and downs of balancing family and business. At first, these moments felt overwhelming, but they forced me to dig deeper, become more resilient, and trust the process.

On the flip side, good luck has often shown up in the form of divine timing. Finding the right people to support my vision, building loyal relationships with clients, and even seeing the impact of my hair and scalp oil on so many lives, these feel like blessings more than mere luck. I truly believe every thing happens for a reason and God has the final say.

Ultimately, I see “luck” as an opportunity, whether it’s a challenge or a blessing. What you do with it; how you respond, learn, and grow, makes all the difference. In my life and business, I’ve learned to see every moment, good or bad, as part of a bigger purpose.
