Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Mccullers
Hi Morgan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. I attended North Carolina A&T State University where I earned my Bachelors of Social Work. I am also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. I have explored many entrepreneurial business ventures and my family and friends have supported every single one of them! My parents are my biggest supporters! Special shoutouts to my mom! That’s my girl!
My initial interest in Real Estate began at a young age when my mom and I would attend the Triangle Parade Of Homes. At that time I didn’t really understand the significance in going but I always loved looking at the million dollar homes. As I got older it became “a thing.” Every year I would look forward to going and seeing the detailed architecture in every home. I would pay attention to some of the top producing agents and how they were so poised. They were the epitome of beauty and brains and I hold myself to the exact same regard! I’ve been a Licensed Esthetician since 2015 but when the world slowed down in 2020 I realized it was time to shift, so I enrolled into Real Estate School. Not long after earning my license in North Carolina, I moved to Miami, Florida and practiced Real Estate. After some time I returned home to Raleigh where I am currently servicing as well as I hold a license in Florida and Georgia.
Right now I am really in a “me season.” Everything that I set out to do I’m doing it! Nothing will hold me back! I feel like I am coming into my true self learning myself and loving on myself more each day. I am becoming the woman that I’ve always wanted to be and it is truly liberating.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing is smooth about Real Estate! lol. Ever! It looks pretty on Selling Sunset but that is not reality! You have to be ready to pivot at any moment! Quick on your toes! Sometimes even down to the final moments at the closing table! The biggest struggles I’ve had were investors! They have a bottom number and they aren’t going a dollar below it. They don’t care anything about market value they want to clear their bottom number! So explaining to them the importance of understanding how the market works all while keeping the clients best interest in mind.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I joined McLaurin Realty Group in the beginning of this year. I’ve been watching Tiffany and her team for a few years now, long before I had my Real Estate License. They were killing the game! Not only was their marketing top tier! But they were actually producing! A lot of times in real estate you’ll see a lot of pretty pictures with their arms folded but not actually putting in the work. These ladies were putting in the work and once you get to know Tiffany you’ll learn quick that you don’t have a choice lol. McLaurin Realty Group is a small black owned firm that provides “Neiman Marcus Service” and I’m a Neiman Marcus kind of girl so I KNEW this was the place for me! If you see Red you know it’s us! They brought big city beauty and brains to Raleigh and I knew I wanted to be a part of that. It’s just amazing to see Black women join together as bosses! I love it!
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The characteristic that I have that I think is most important to my success is that anyone you ask about me will say “Morgan is so sweet.” I truly pride myself on being kind to everyone. Being kind can take you far in life. I’m easily able to making genuine connections with people. I’ve dealt with people in such intimate and vulnerable settings with my work for years that it just comes natural. It’s definitely one of those things that’s in you not on you.
