Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Shoemaker
Hi Lauren , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Growing up, my grandmother, or as I call her “memere”, used to tell me “mettre la table”, which is French for “set the table.” I took setting the table as a personal mission-often times putting so many candlesticks and decorations on the table that it would be impossible to set your plate down. She embraced that.
My Memere isn’t a minimalist by any means-more is more with her. She’s often times decked out from head to toe in animal print, wears bright red lipstick and enjoys all things fabulous. She allowed me to be creative.
Many, many years later, it’s now my job to “mettre la table.” LS Planning & Co. is extremely design focused. While my tablescapes are not much more refined, I can’t help but think about my grandmother every time I set a table.
LS Planning & Co, works to ensure that your event is perfectly planned and perfectly executed every time.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Competence equals confidence. You do not gain confidence without failure.
No one really tells you how to create a business-how to market, how to bookkeep, what to do, how to file taxes, how to master your craft, how to handle competition, how to create your logo, etc.
Owning a business isn’t easy, but it’s incredibly rewarding. Tips? Do your research, (Like actually research!), find a mentor within your field, understand that your business will not instantly take off (be patient and kind to yourself).
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

Not only do we meticulously plan every detail, but we are there from start to finish on your wedding day to ensure that the execution is perfect as well.
To put it short, I care.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is that the wedding industry needs community over competition. We all have the same motive in mind-to help you have the best day ever!
