Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Stevens
Hi Morgan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve been a licensed hairstylist since 2012, and throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with and learning from some of the best artists in the industry. Most of my experience has been in salons, where I’ve not only honed my craft but also helped train new stylists as they began their own journeys. My passion for the beauty industry has only deepened over the years, and I’ve always loved staying on top of trends and evolving with the times.
One of the most rewarding parts of my career has been building deep, meaningful relationships with my clients. I truly value the connections I’ve formed, as these relationships go beyond just a haircut—they’re about trust, support, and creating a positive experience for people.
Recently, I realized it was time to take a leap and open my own single-chair studio. It was honestly the scariest decision I’ve ever made, and the fear of failure was overwhelming at times. But I kept telling myself, ‘do it scared,’ and that’s exactly what I did. Now, looking back, I can confidently say that every fear I had about business ownership has been shattered. This journey has been incredibly rewarding, and I’m excited to see where it leads and how it continues to grow.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of the biggest struggles I’ve faced has been finding that balance between being a wife, a mom, and an entrepreneur. There are days when I feel like I’m being pulled in every direction, and it can be tough to give my all to both my business and my family.
Learning to set boundaries and manage my time better has been a constant challenge, and honestly, it’s something I’m still working on. But having a strong support system at home has been a lifesaver, and it helps remind me why I’m doing all of this: to build a life I’m proud of for myself and my family. It’s not always easy, but the joy of being able to follow my passion while also being there for my loved ones makes it all worth it.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a hairstylist specializing in hair color and extensions, with a focus on natural transformations that enhance what a client already has. Whether it’s highlights, grey coverage, or extensions, I love helping my clients feel great about their hair.
I’m most proud of creating a relaxed, welcoming environment where my clients feel heard and cared for. I truly believe in giving my undivided attention to each guest and making sure they leave feeling not just happy with their hair, but confident too
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I think risk-taking is all about weighing the potential rewards and knowing when to trust your instincts. I’m not someone who jumps into every risk, but when I believe in something and feel aligned with it, I try to push past the fear and take the leap. For me, taking risks has been about growing outside my comfort zone and having faith that even if things don’t go as planned, I’ll learn and grow from the experience.
