Daily Inspiration: Meet Olashaun Parker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Olashaun Parker

Hi Olashaun , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I moved to NC in September 2020 during the pandemic. New state, new job, no family, no friends, new outlook on life taught myself real estate from online courses and passed all of them the first time. Became a real estate agent for not only VA but NC also. Closed first deal 11/4/21 closed my 50th deal 1/31/25. Quit my salaried job 6/17/22 and had faith that real estate was going to take care of me. Closed 11 deals in 2022 and ended up making the same amount of money that I would have made if I kept my full time job. That’s when I knew. Closed 26 deals the following year and made almost 3x my salary.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No. There were struggles with doubt, fear and strategy. The real estate course teaches you what you are selling but it does not teach you HOW. I had to figure out how to attract clients. That was really hard. I was new to this career. Who would trust me? I lost friends, family and had to accept that this journey was for me and certain people couldn’t come.
