Check Out Veronica Sanchez’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Veronica Sanchez

Hi Veronica , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Veronica Sanchez, a digital marketer with a strong background in SEO and a degree in Media and Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I’ve been working steadily since I was 15, primarily in healthcare, where I gained hands-on experience while paying my way through college and raising two kids. After earning my bachelor’s degree, I transitioned from healthcare to digital marketing, combining my skills in media and creativity. As a proud Raleigh native, I created ‘Raleigh Spotlight’ to merge my passion for the city’s culture with my love for storytelling. This account serves as my personal creative outlet, helping locals and visitors discover the best that the Triangle has to offer. ‘Raleigh Spotlight’ isn’t a gossip page—it’s a trusted guide for exploring RDU, offering insider tips on events, hidden gems, and all the unique experiences that define Raleigh-Durham’s vibrant communities. Ultimately, I want this page to be your go-to lifestyle source for everything Raleigh, from must-try spots to can’t-misss experiences.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Bringing Raleigh Spotlight to life hasn’t always been a smooth ride. Balancing my full-time job, raising two middle schoolers, and juggling extracurriculars can be overwhelming, and sometimes it feels like there aren’t enough hours in the day. I’ve faced my fair share of imposter syndrome and writer’s block, which made it tough to move forward at times. There were moments when I doubted myself or struggled to find the right words, and honestly, that’s why it’s taken me a while to get this page off the ground. We’re still at the beginning stages, having just published our first post in December 2024, but despite the challenges, Raleigh Spotlight has become a labor of love. I’m committed to making it a trusted source for anyone looking to experience the best Raleigh has to offer. It’s a testament to the fact that even when things aren’t perfect, passion and persistence can lead to something special.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’ve probably touched on this already, but let me dive a bit deeper. After graduating from UNC, I jumped into a digital marketing career, with a heavy focus on SEO. Over the past five years, I’ve absorbed so much and now consider myself pretty well-versed in the field—almost an expert at this point. But I didn’t stop there. Along the way, I’ve picked up a variety of other digital marketing skills and love collaborating with teams to launch campaigns that actually make an impact. Creativity has always been at my core, and that’s exactly why I wanted to create something that’s all mine—a true reflection of my personality and passions. The Triangle has its news sources, but none of them give me that personal, authentic vibe. ‘Raleigh Spotlight’ is my way of filling that gap—a voice for the culture, straight from someone who’s immersed in it every day.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice? Bet on yourself and trust your instincts. When self-doubt creeps in or you feel like you don’t have all the answers, rely on yourself to do the research and put in the work to improve—you’ll find your way to success. I also think it’s so important to go after work that aligns with your passions. Whether it’s writing, photography, cooking, or anything else you’re into, we’re living in a time where you can make a career out of what excites you. The possibilities are endless, so don’t be afraid to carve your own path.
