Community Highlights: Meet Evelyn Hinojosa of Blew Balloon Haus

Today we’d like to introduce you to Evelyn Hinojosa

Hi Evelyn, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started Blew balloon haus spontaneously after being a stay at home mom, I have two boys Angelo (6) and Lucas (4), their birthdays are nothing short of “extra”. I would always go above and beyond to celebrate them, in the winter of 2022 I took a leap of faith. “Let’s start a bounce house rentals business”, I told my husband and his support gave me the push I needed. We started with toddler modern bounce houses and slowly made our way into soft play. The support from our community spoke volumes. Hearing from multiple “it was just what we needed in our area” and “this is perfect for toddlers who are still too small for jumbo inflatables”. Our first year was hard and you truly get as much as you put into it, just like with anything else. However, with lots of hard work, trusting god’s plan for our business and the tremendous support from our community, we are now heading into year 3 of business as a full one stop party business. We have since added on chiara wall rentals, organic balloon decor, ball pits and have expanded our selection of inflatables.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not. But if anything was a smooth road, everyone would be doing it. We started with $2,500 and as a stay at home mom and my husband being the only one working we had to go all in or risk losing all that money. Gaining the trust of families during some of the most special moments in life is also another “obstacle”, you don’t want them to not be happy. We help celebrate a variety of milestones from first time parents baby showers, first birthdays, wedding showers, graduations, so the last thing we want to do is let anyone down.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We are a party rental business. We specialize in organic balloons decor but offer party rentals to make your celebrations as “extra” or simple and sweet as needed. From modern bounce houses, chiara wall rentals, toddler soft play, and ball pits! I would say I’m most proud of the relationships built along the way. Our regular customers have truly become friends, we do not take for granted the trust they have in us in helping celebrate the most special occasions in their lives.
