Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m the founder of Jolie Frizz, a new luxury hair brand designed to provide high-quality, stylish, and effortless hair solutions for women—especially those with textured and curly hair. This brand is a reflection of both my personal passion and professional expertise, blending my lifelong love for hair with the marketing skills I’ve developed throughout my career.

Looking back, it feels like everything naturally led me here. I’ve been obsessed with hair for as long as I can remember. From experimenting with styles as a kid to always being the go-to person for hair advice, it’s something that’s always been a part of me. At the same time, I pursued a career in marketing, where I worked my way into a senior-level role, leading campaigns and brand strategies across various industries.

Through my years in marketing, I learned what makes a brand truly resonate with people—from strong messaging to community-building—and, just as importantly, what doesn’t work. I found myself drawn to the idea of creating something of my own, where I could apply everything I had learned to a brand I deeply cared about. The more I thought about it, the more it made sense: My love for hair and my expertise in branding and strategy fit together perfectly.

That ultimately led me to take the leap and start Jolie Frizz. It was a risk, but one I felt I had to take. This journey has been about more than just launching a product—it’s been about stepping outside of what I was taught in college and my corporate roles to build something that aligns with my passion. I’m excited to grow Jolie Frizz into a brand that speaks to women who want both quality and style and to create something that fills a real gap in the industry.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There were so many things that affected how I got to this launching point—things like self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and the belief that this could actually be successful.

At first, it was about even feeling capable of doing something like this. Jolie Frizz wasn’t some spur-of-the-moment idea—it’s something I had mapped out and dreamed about since 2020. But, of course, self-doubt and outside noise got in the way. Even my professional career made me second-guess myself. When I first stepped into a senior-level marketing role, I was told I wasn’t cut out for it and that maybe I should consider something else. That shook me to my core. If I couldn’t succeed in a role I worked so hard for, how could I possibly create something of my own?

But then I had a wake-up call—I realized they didn’t know what they were talking about. Instead of letting that doubt define me, I used it as fuel. Within just four months, I made groundbreaking changes. I successfully pulled off an event that had struggled for years—turning what used to be a 50-person turnout into an event with over 400 attendees. By the end of the year, visitation had risen by 10%, and I brought fresh, trendy energy that led others to follow suit. I made them eat their words.

That experience taught me the power of resilience, hard work, and belief in myself. It made me realize that if I could prove them wrong, I could also prove myself wrong. I was capable. And if I could transform someone else’s vision into something successful, why couldn’t I do it for my own? That’s what ultimately pushed me to stop waiting, stop doubting, and start something groundbreaking for myself.

This isn’t just another hair company—it’s a movement in the beauty space, one that I’m excited to grow and evolve.
