Check Out Joshua Alston’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Alston

Hi Joshua, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I grew up being involved in many sports, particularly football. My favorite part about sports was always the weight room. Watching my own body grow and transform and seeing the new heights I could take my body to inspired me. So once I got to college and began an internship where I began training different people and seeing the joy on their faces come when they made progress towards becoming healthier and reaching their goals, that’s how I knew this industry is what my calling was in.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing is ever a smooth road, but I would always rather take the road less travelled than the road familiar. Always the obstacles of someone else determining how you should work or telling you how much to charge is an obstacle. Also, being able to reach higher platforms while trying to do it “the right way” and being informative is not always easy. But, being able to do things my way, the way I know that allows people to get the help and results they deserve while personally enjoying it is why I do what I do.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a health professional that focuses on holistic health improvements. That includes improving someone’s health physically, mentally, emotionally, socially and spiritually. When someone thrives in all areas of health, their lives are more enjoyable.

What sets me apart is my knowledge and skills. I’ve been training for a decade. I have a BA in Health Science, a MS in Exercise Science and working on a Doctorate in Kinesiology. I am a Certified Exercise Physiologist through ACSM, Certified Strength Coach through ISSA, Certified Boxing Instructor and Certified Sports Nutritionist. I specialize in being able to help any and everyone from all ages and all walks of life. What sets me apart is that I never settle. I’m always looking for new ways to help someone achieve their goals, through gaining knowledge and personal achievements.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to always know your worth and bet on yourself. If you constantly live live by the standards others set for you, you’ll never be able to become who you truly can be.
