Today we’d like to introduce you to Aryan Rohira
Aryan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story is one of passion, persistence, and turning dreams into reality. It all began when I was 10 years old, standing on the green carpet at the IIFA Awards show with my parents, surrounded by Bollywood legends like Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan. That moment lit a fire in me—a love for music and entertainment that I couldn’t ignore. I started experimenting with music production software, blending the vibrant beats of Bollywood with the high-energy pulse of techno, and by the time I was 14, I knew I wanted to share my music with the world.
The real turning point came when I got the opportunity to perform at the TuLa Entertainment New Year’s show. It was my first big break, and I was beyond nervous. I was in the early stages of DJ’ing and I gave all I had into that performance. The crowd’s energy was electric, and when I saw people dancing, smiling, and connecting with my music, I knew I was exactly where I was meant to be. That night wasn’t just a performance—it was a launchpad.
The following year, at just 15 years old, I found myself playing at the largest Bollywood New Year’s Eve show in Miami. It was surreal. From that stage of TuLa Entertainment in Morrisville to one of the biggest events in the country, the journey was a whirlwind. I owe a lot of it to the connections I made and the confidence I gained from that first performance. Since then, I’ve played in clubs across Miami, New York, Greece, and many other cities across the nation. I have collaborated with incredible artists like DJ Dharak, DJ Browny, DJ Shiv, DJ Vybz and Bollywood star Daisy Shah, and Alina Ponomarenko (Ms. Universe Ukraine). It all started with that one night at the TuLa show.
Beyond music, I’ve also built a life as a young entrepreneur, game developer, and community leader. I’ve created games with over 25 million players and even at age 12 had a team of 14 developers working under me. I teach kids to code and robotics at local schools, manage retail store Niche and Dime at Crabtree Valley Mall, have contributed 100+ hours of community service, and plan large-scale Indian festivals throughout the RTP area that bring together thousands of people. Balancing all of this as a student at Cary High School as a Straight-A honor roll student, dual-enrolled at Wake Tech and NJROTC where I lead other cadets in Drill, Logistics, and built our cyber security competition team that placed 7th in the nation has been very humbling and exciting. I’m also a licensed first responder and rescue diver, having gone through extensive training to earn these certifications. There have been real-world situations where I’ve had to apply these skills during medical emergencies, and it’s taught me the importance of staying calm under pressure and being ready to help others at a moment’s notice. It’s taught me the value of time, discipline, and following my passions. Every step of this journey has been about pushing boundaries and proving that age is just a number when you’re dedicated to your dreams.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been far from smooth, but I think the challenges have made me stronger. When I first started DJ’ing at 14, I faced a lot of skepticism because of my age. Being under the age of 21 made it hard to book gigs, although there are no laws restricting underage artists, I have to work twice as hard to prove myself. The Tula New Year’s show was a huge opportunity, but it also came with a lot of pressure. I remember feeling like I had to deliver something extraordinary, not just for the crowd, but for myself.
Balancing everything has also been a constant struggle. Between school, NJROTC, community service, managing my family’s store, teaching kids to code, pursuing my music career, and maintaining my certifications as a first responder and rescue diver, there have been times when I barely get any time to myself. I’ve learned to prioritize, stay organized, and lean on the support of my family and mentors. Every challenge has taught me resilience and the importance of staying true to my passions.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I wear multiple hats, but at my core, my passion is for being a DJ and artist who specializes in Bollywood techno remixes. I’m known for bringing the vibrant energy of Bollywood music to the United States, blending it with modern techno beats to create something entirely unique. Collaborating with celebrity DJs across the world including music collaborations with DJs in India and Bollywood stars like Daisy Shah and Ms. Universe Ukraine has been a dream come true, and it’s helped me carve out a niche that’s all my own.
What I’m most proud of is how far I’ve come in such a short time. From that first performance at the TuLa New Year’s show to playing the largest Bollywood NYE event in Miami just a year later, it’s been an incredible journey. What sets me apart is my genuine passion for music and my ability to create experiences that people remember for a lifetime. When I’m on stage, I’m not just playing tracks—I’m telling a story, connecting with the audience, and taking them on a journey.
Beyond music, I’m proud of my accomplishments as a young entrepreneur, leader, and first responder. Whether it’s developing a game with 25 million players, being a DEKA national-qualifier, teaching kids to code, planning large-scale events, or using my rescue diving and first responder training to help others in emergencies, I pour my heart into everything I do. My strong personal branding and ability to communicate with others have also been key to my success.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory has to be attending the IIFA Awards show with my parents. I was just a kid, but being on the green carpet with Bollywood icons like Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan felt like stepping into a dream. That experience ignited the fire within me for my love for music and entertainment, and it’s a moment I’ll always cherish. It’s interesting how life comes full circle—now, as a DJ, I get to collaborate with some of the same artists who inspired me all those years ago. It’s a reminder that dreams really can come true if you’re driven to put all you have to make it happen.
