Today we’d like to introduce you to Hapyvaly

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
HapyValy is a 5 piece Indie rock band formed in the summer of 2022 during our senior year of high school. Though we had all known each other in different ways growing up, some of us weren’t close until we came together for a jam session. The chemistry was instant, and before we knew it, we were playing small local events around town and at our school.

As we started writing original music and playing more shows, we quickly gained traction in the Raleigh music scene. Our biggest accomplishment came when we played twice at the Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival in Pittsboro, winning the band competition. In just two years, we’ve gone from a high school garage band to a rising indie rock group with three released singles, steadily making a name for ourselves in the North Carolina music scene.

Today, even though we attend different colleges, we continue to perform in Raleigh and throughout North Carolina. Our focus is now on original music and expanding our reach beyond NC and into surrounding areas.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We all go to Colleges far away from each other, ranging from Tennessee to Western NC and Raleigh. This is a huge roadblock for us as we are limited to school breaks and some weekend trips to get together to play shows, practice, write and record music.

Our lead singer Anthony Forzaglia is in the army, where he was gone for 5 1/2 months for bootcamp. Right before he left was when we really started to gel as a band and write original music. It put a pause on our progress but came back strong when he returned.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We are a Indie Rock band with some 90s alternative and grunge influence. We also have been described to have a beachy vibe to some of our songs.

What separates us from others is our stage presence. Our shows are extremely energetic and our chemistry on stage makes it very natural for us.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
As we’ve learned in the music industry, social media marketing is very crucial and we think that will only become more and more a part of succeeding in music.

We also think the general audience will expect more music to be released quicker, as with technology it’s been easier to record and release music.

One of the big shifts we think will unfortunately continue is the loss of fine art in music and the appreciation of music as AI and formulaic mainstream music is more prevalent.
