Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Lott

Jasmine, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
During the pandemic, a lot of self-care places had to close down. Just like any female, I loved to get my nails and toes done. However, that was hard to do during that time so I personally started looking into press on nails so it still felt like I was getting my nails done.

One day I was scrolling on one of my social media platforms came across gel x and gel nails. I instantly fell in love with how the nails looked so I thought I was going to by the gel x systems and do my nails. Then I thought “Why not get my license as a nail tech and provide nail services while adding another stream of income”. So, at the end of 2023, I made up my mind to enroll into nail school and started classes January 1, 2024 after work. By the end of March, I completed nail school and passed my state board tests in April. After that I slowly began to purchase my supplies and tools, found a space to take clients and taking course for the nail services I wanted to provide.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One challenges were figuring out how to fund my suite such as purchasing the necessary tools and supplies for performing nail services on clients. Some family members and friends gave donates or brought things off my Amazon wish list. I’ve also applied to grants to get additional funding and saved some funds from my full time job.

Another challenge is learning the nail services that I want to provide. Nail school just provided me with the foundation of nail care, sanitation and a little bit of the techniques. However, I want to provide natural nail services so I have to learn from other nail techs how to perform gel x, hard and soft gel application and many other techniques.

We’ve been impressed with Jaz Co. Nail Studio, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At my nail studio, I specialize in providing natural nail care services, with a focus on Gel X extensions. These are a great option for clients who want long-lasting, beautiful nails without compromising the health of their natural nails. Along with Gel X, I also offer gel nails, and I’ll soon be adding soft and hard builder gel services to my menu.

What sets my studio apart is the flexibility I offer to my clients. I understand that not everyone’s schedule fits within the typical business hours, so I offer after-hours and weekend appointments to ensure my clients can still get the care they need, no matter how busy their week gets.

I’m incredibly proud of the journey I’ve been on so far—what started as a hobby has turned into something much bigger. Earning my license and transforming my passion into a professional career has been both challenging and rewarding. I’m also excited to be starting my own brand from the ground up. It’s a thrilling experience, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how I grow and where this journey takes me.
