Meet Erica Anderson Rooney of HER Collective

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erica Anderson Rooney

Hi Erica, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started in fitness and wellness, working for Verizon as a Health and Wellness Coordinator for almost 8 years. But then I hit my first ceiling, where I was told I couldn’t move up in title or in pay due to the salary bands that had been established. That was when I pivoted into Human Resources.
Within 5 years, I climbed the corporate ladder and landed in the C-Suite as a Chief People Officer in Tech. I led a 125$ Million global merger and acquisition, and was leading both HR and IT, but found myself wondering “is this all there is?”

Through a beautiful twist of events, I was inspired to start my podcast, “Glass Ceilings and Sticky Floors”, which led me to writing a book “Glass Ceilings and Sticky Floors – Shatter Limiting Beliefs and Toxic Behaviors to Uncover Infinite Possibilities”, which was endorsed by Mel Robbins, and featured in SUCCESS Magazine.

I now run a digital community called HER COLLECTIVE – for women who are looking to grow, connect, and climb the ladder without sacrificing their sanity or their success. I’m a speaker, gender equality advocate, and executive coach!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not. That is why I have the concept of “sticky floors.” Sticky floors are the limiting beliefs and toxic behaviors that keep you stuck. They show up like imposter syndrome, perfectionism, fear, and burnout – and they do not discriminate. One of my biggest struggles was staying true to my authenticity. From an early age, I learned it was important to belong – to fit in – which meant I was always agreeable – never authentic. It has taken me years, and a lot of practice to step into my authentic authority, but that is why I created the SNAP Method (detailed in my book) to help you break free from these limiting beliefs and toxic behaviors.

I have also hit my head against the glass ceiling more times than I can count. I have been mansplained to by peers, had my professional expertise disregarded for a “bro-mance” and been talked over more times than I can count.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
HER Collective is more than just a professional network—it’s a movement designed for women who are ready to step into their power, break through barriers, and lead with confidence. It’s a space where ambitious, driven women come together to support, uplift, and challenge each other to grow—without sacrificing their well-being in the process.

In today’s world, it’s easy to feel like you’re doing it all alone. You’re climbing the corporate ladder, building your business, managing your team, and balancing a personal life that never slows down. But success shouldn’t feel isolating. That’s why HER Collective exists—to create a space where women don’t just talk about career growth, but actually take action toward it, together.

Inside HER Collective, members gain access to weekly live coaching sessions, where they can bring their biggest challenges, get real-time guidance, and walk away with strategies that work. Each month, we host expert-led masterclasses on topics like leadership, negotiation, executive presence, and breaking through career ceilings. Members also have access to an exclusive resource library filled with tools, templates, and guides designed to make career growth simpler and more strategic.

But beyond the resources and coaching, HER Collective is about community. It’s about having a group of like-minded women who genuinely get it—who know what it’s like to want more, to push for bigger goals, and to navigate the unique challenges that come with being a high-achieving woman in today’s workplace. It’s a space where success is celebrated, challenges are met with support, and every member has a seat at the table.

This is for the woman who is ready to take up space. It’s for the leader who is done waiting for permission. It’s for the high-achiever who wants to grow, lead, and thrive—without burning out.

If you’re looking for a community that challenges you, supports you, and helps you take action toward the career and life you want, HER Collective is waiting for you.

I am most proud of the authentic connections that have been formed, and continue to form with all the new members! Each week we are setting ambitious goals and CRUSHING THEM. We are the movement that will change the world for women.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
That confidence doesn’t come from perfection. That you will NEVER be “ready” so just do it! Like most people, I think I could talk myself out of a lot of things based on my “sticky floors” – but you’ll never catch me doing that now.
