Today we’d like to introduce you to Princess Tope
Hi Princess , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
INVESTED was born out of a personal need for a sanctuary—a space where I could escape and connect with like-minded individuals who shared the same struggles beyond post-grad life. After graduating a year and a half early with two degrees from one of the top-rated universities in my state, I thought I had it all figured out. I wasn’t the average student—I was deeply involved, well traveled, a network of multimillionaire mentors, and I built what I thought were the right connections for success- for my future!
But stepping into the real world hit me harder than I ever expected. I wasn’t prepared for the emotional toll that came with it. I faced what I now call post-grad depression—a feeling of stagnation and uncertainty that so many young people experience but rarely talk about. I moved back into my childhood bedroom, feeling trapped. My friends were stuck in cycles of mediocrity, I lacked experience, and life wasn’t handing me the opportunities I had envisioned.
I refused to stay stuck. I started prioritizing my mental health—spending eight hours a day listening to Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast, running for five hours a day to clear my mind, and searching for what came next. And that’s when I realized something: I wasn’t alone. There were so many others feeling just as lost, confused, and unsure about their next move. The problem? They didn’t know how to get out.
That’s why I created Invested Podcast—not just as a platform, but as a movement. It’s a space for young people navigating the real, messy parts of life—mental health struggles, career uncertainty, relationship challenges, financial instability, and all the things no one prepares us for. I wanted to create a space where people felt heard, understood, and empowered to take control of their lives instead of waiting for an opportunity that may never come.
Invested Creatives is an extension of that vision—curating spaces that go beyond nightlife, fostering real conversations, education, and community engagement. It’s a place of liberated escapism, where people can find not just entertainment but also inspiration, meaningful connections, and the support they need to grow.
At the end of the day, success isn’t about waiting for someone to hand you the key to the door. It’s about building the door yourself—and maybe even some windows while you’re at it.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. The thing about truly investing in yourself is that it requires sacrifice—letting go of who you thought you were to become the person you know you’re meant to be. And that’s not easy.
At 21, I had to make some of the hardest choices of my life. I walked away from friendships that no longer aligned with my vision, even when it hurt. The biggest struggle wasn’t just building a brand—it was earning respect for it. People didn’t take me seriously at first. They saw my ambition as just another “idea” instead of a movement in the making. I had to fight for my place in rooms where I wasn’t invited, proving over and over that I belonged.
I poured my own money into this vision, stretching myself thin just to keep the dream alive, only to see investments disappear with nothing to show for them. But the hardest part? Letting go of the habits that once defined me—the comfort zones, the distractions, the excuses. I had to rebuild myself from the ground up.
Every setback, every loss, and every moment of doubt forced me to double down on my purpose.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I turn ideas into movements.
Some of my best ideas started as a scribbled note on a whiteboard, a late-night voice memo, or a casual “what if” conversation. But ideas alone don’t drive impact—execution does.
My career background, I’ve served as an Agile Coach & Project Manager, I specialize in creating better operational systems for teams and organizations. I’ve led tech and media operations across EdTech, Finance, and Media, structuring organizations to operate efficiently, developing scalable systems like SaFe framwork or Lean Management, and leading teams to execute high-impact projects on time and within budget through modern methodologgies that work. Whether it’s launching customer-first applications, improving user experiences, or creating frameworks that make success repeatable, I focus on building systems that last. I guess you could say I’m known for creating the structures and processes that make innovation sustainable.
But beyond business and strategy, I am creative at heart. I spent 98% of my days creating something. what I’m most proud of is the community outreach initiatives I’ve led, like the #GenZonPolitics campaign with NC House. This wasn’t just about “engagement”; it was about meeting young voters where they are—through interactive forums, digital storytelling, and creative outreach that didn’t just inform but inspired. I helped start a difficult conversation with my generation in a way that felt authentic, engaging, and real.
What sets me apart? I always think in terms of the bigger picture—the lasting impact. Beyond monetary success, I focus on how people feel at every stage—whether they’re a customer, a team member, or part of a movement. I can do this because I don’t just build for people—I build with them. I’m my own customer first. I know what it feels like to crave something better, something meaningful and I am picky so only the best. And because of that, I don’t just work hard—I love hard. And that makes all the difference.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned recently is the power of relationships. At the end of the day, the quality of your connections with people is what truly matters. You can chase success for the money, the recognition, or the accolades, but real impact comes from collaborating, building with others, and giving people a sense of ownership in the vision.
You can’t do it alone, and honestly, it’s not as fulfilling that way. Too many people operate from a place of greed or control, afraid to share opportunities. But the moment you start investing in your relationships—genuinely pouring into others—they will invest in you tenfold. And that kind of success? It lasts. + its fun !
