Today we’d like to introduce you to Hind Alawar
Hi Hind, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Grazie Raleigh started as a passion project of mine right after I graduated with a communication degree from ECU. I am big fan of story telling and the way that it intertwines with branding when it comes to businesses, I realized that that is exactly what I want to do. I wanted to creat a service that tells a story, Grazie Raleigh is a story of gratitude to a community that took me in back in 2011 when I moved to Raleigh. We all see Raleigh growing offering more and more services and luxuries to its community. We wanted to add to that growth, by creating a branded catering boxes that allow you with a click of a button to put together a company lunch, nibbles for your next meeting, and beautiful baby shower spread, the possibilities are endless. We focus on diversifying the concept of ‘edible art’ into a stunning selection of products, taking the stress out of hosting from our clients. We are also a PR gifting company, meaning we specialized in creating curated be spoke gift baskets that mirror our clients branding in the best way possible. Grazie Raleigh is a service and a product in one, we are expanding our menu in spring 2025 to brunch, and dessert boxes, all made with the highest quality products. I want to highlight the incredible people we collaborate with from Raleigh’s own farmers market, local cheese creameries, and local bakeries. Grazie Raleigh is part of a healthy small business cycle, that we are so proud of.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Branding for a small business company, like ours was the hardest part as far as finding a branding company that takes on smaller scale projects. The process took a while eventually we had to learn how to create our own logos and how to source a company to print our boxes. We also had to learn patience, and understanding that a product is part of an ongoing evolving journey. Our menu and our boxes changed so much since we opened and we hope to keep making better and better.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I love to learn. I have a degree in hospitality from my origin country Lebanon, when I moved to Raleigh I attended wake technical college to start my college journey here, I first obtained my associate degree in arts, during these years, I got introduced to storytelling, and I fell in love with it. Then I attended Eastern Carolina University to obtain a Communication degree, I proudly graduated with a Magna Cum Laude recognition. After graduating, I wanted to apply everything I learned into a project of mine before exploring the job market. And this is when Grazie Raleigh came to life!
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I am a mom of two beautiful daughters, they give me so much inspiration and support. I wanted to be a living proof that you can be the writer and the producer of your own dreams. Also that creativity is very precious and one day when you do what you love, when you follow your passion, it will lead you to success. They give me so much drive to give my best.
