Hidden Gems: Meet Brittany of Hello Velocity

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany

Hi Brittany, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m a Leadership Coach and Trainer at my own company, Hello Velocity. My origin story starts back in 2019 when I was working in Corporate America and had my ‘quarter-life crisis.’ I was working my way up the corporate ladder but felt unfulfilled and knew something was missing but didn’t know what. So I worked with a life coach for the first time and learned so much about myself and found the experience really life-changing. I knew then that if I could help one person the way she helped me, that it would be more fulfilling than anything I could do in Corporate America in the next 30 years.

So I took an intensive, year-long life & leadership coaching training program that helped me grow even more and learn how to coach others. What started as a goal to learn as much as I could and help one person quickly turned into helping multiple people and needing to start an official business. So Hello Velocity was born officially as an LLC in February 2020.

Since then I’ve worked with a variety of individuals and groups to help them accelerate their goals. Now, I specialize in helping women leaders in Corporate America to gain the skills and confidence they need to be their best. Typically we are working through topics like leadership skills, strategic planning, and prioritization.

I’m most proud of helping so many women find their voices, show up confidently at work, and create more time to spend with their loved ones at home.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I don’t know a single entrepreneur who would say it’s been a smooth road to finding success.

One of my biggest struggles has been figuring out how to focus in on the best ideas at the best time. I have a million ideas for my business and I get so excited that I want to start them all… now. But I’ve learned (the hard way) that’s not realistic. So it’s learning the delicate balance of strategic thinking, prioritizing, and managing my own time and deadlines.

I also learned the hard way by spending thousands of dollars on various programs that did not return the ROI they promised that there isn’t one way to success as a business owner. If it were that easy we’d all have it figured out by now. Instead, I had to learn to navigate my own path based on my own strengths, passions, and the demand by my customers.

We’ve been impressed with Hello Velocity, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m a Leadership Coach and Trainer at my own company, Hello Velocity. My mission is to help leaders gain the skills and confidence they need to be their best without sacrificing their personal priorities.

This looks like helping leaders prioritize their endless tasks more effectively, practicing leadership soft skills like communication, and holding them accountable to continually move forward on their goals.

What’s most exciting about my work is seeing the impact my coaching or training can have not just on the individual client, but also their team, organization, and even families.

What sets me apart is my ability to leverage my decade of experience in corporate America, often being the youngest person in the room presenting to C-suite executives, to bring a new perspective that connects with professionals of all ages and levels in the company. Clients also share that I’m very easy to talk to and open up to, which is crucial for establishing a meaningful and productive coaching partnership.

Something new coming this year that I’m so excited about is that I’m launching my own podcast in March 2025 called the Hello Velocity podcast. I’ll be sharing more leadership insights and tips specifically for women in leadership positions, based on my most common topics with my coaching clients.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
A few of my top favorites:
– Asana: task management app that helps me keep on top of my to do list and long-term deadlines
– YouTube: I listen to a (free) guided meditation at the beginning of nearly every work day
– The 4 Agreements: One of my favorite personal development books that helps me to step away from my over-analytical mind and not take things personally.
– Notes App: this is where I put all my new ideas as they come to me and I even like to use the talk to text feature when I’m out for a walk so I can just talk into my phone and it’s converted to text for me automatically
