Conversations with Andrea Cubillan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Cubillan.

Hi Andrea, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m a Venezuelan nutritionist with over 10 years of experience and a university degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. I moved to the United States eight years ago, and like many immigrants, I faced the challenge of starting over in a new country. I had to take on jobs outside my field, but I never lost sight of my true calling: helping others heal and love themselves through what they eat and what they allow into their bodies.

Over the years, I’ve developed an online program that supports people in transitioning to an anti-inflammatory, gut-friendly way of eating. My approach is rooted in flexibility and sustainability, with the goal of helping people feel more energized, improve their digestion, and build habits that actually last — without strict diets or guilt.

Beyond my career, I’m also a proud mom of two and a wife. My family is my greatest joy, and I deeply value quality time with them. When I’m not working, you’ll often find me dancing — it’s one of my favorite ways to unwind and reconnect with myself.

My purpose is to empower others to reconnect with their bodies, rebuild their health from the inside out, and experience the freedom that comes with truly feeling well — and doing all of this, while building a life I love in a new country, is something I’m truly proud of.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all — the road has been far from smooth, but it has definitely been meaningful.

Emigrating from Venezuela to the U.S. meant adapting to a completely new culture, starting from scratch, and facing the reality of not speaking the language fluently at first. I had to work in jobs unrelated to my field just to make ends meet and support my children and household. Being away from my family — who stayed back in Venezuela — was emotionally challenging, especially during important moments and celebrations.

As a mother, wife, and entrepreneur, one of my biggest struggles has been managing my time and energy. Balancing a regular job, raising my kids, caring for my home, nurturing my marriage, and still trying to grow my business has often felt overwhelming. There were moments when I truly believed I wouldn’t be able to focus on my dream. But deep down, I always felt a calling in my soul — a strong purpose to help others live healthier lives through food and self-love.

On a personal level, I’ve also faced challenges with anxiety and periods of depression. These experiences were difficult, but they’ve made me more compassionate and more committed to the work I do. I’ve learned that with time, planning, patience, and grace, everything becomes manageable. Every struggle has helped shape the woman, mother, and professional I am today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I run a digital wellness brand focused on helping people heal and improve their lives through anti-inflammatory nutrition and sustainable habits. I specialize in gut health and how it influences energy, mood, weight, and overall well-being. Through my online programs, I guide people in adopting a way of eating that reduces inflammation, improves digestion, and supports long-term health — without strict diets or unrealistic restrictions.

What sets me apart is my compassionate and flexible approach. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all plans or perfection. Instead, I help people build habits that are both effective and sustainable, honoring their culture, lifestyle, and emotional connection with food. My goal is to help others feel good from the inside out by reconnecting with their bodies and nourishing themselves with love and intention.

What I’m most proud of is the impact my work has had on people’s lives. My clients often tell me they feel truly seen and supported for the first time. That, to me, is the most meaningful part of what I do.

If there’s one thing I want your readers to know, it’s that healing is possible — and it starts with the simple, powerful act of choosing to care for yourself through food.

Any big plans?
One of my biggest professional dreams is to expand my work as a speaker — to take my message to a wider audience and inspire more people to embrace healthy eating as a form of self-love. I want to raise awareness around the power of food not just to nourish, but to heal, energize, and reconnect us with our true selves.

My goal is to speak on more stages, reach new communities, and create lasting impact by showing people that they don’t need to follow extreme diets or live in guilt. They can learn to care for themselves in a way that is joyful, realistic, and deeply transformative.

Most importantly, I want to do this work for the Spanish-speaking community. As a Latina, I feel a deep sense of responsibility and passion for helping my people — especially those who may not always have access to health education in their language. My mission is to empower the Hispanic community to know that they are worthy of wellness, and that it begins with something as powerful and accessible as the food on their plate.
