Today we’d like to introduce you to Spencer Couch.
Hi Spencer, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m 29 and have always loved learning and discovering new things. Whether it’s trying out the latest products or diving into new trends and topics, I genuinely enjoy knowing what’s out there—and even more so, sharing it with my friends. I graduated from NC State in 2018 with a degree in Communications, focusing on digital media. Back then, social media still felt like the Wild West, but I was hooked early on.
For the past seven years, I’ve worked with social platforms at the corporate level, and over time, I realized that my extroverted personality and love for sharing could (and should) live on social too. So last December, I finally launched my TikTok page. My content is lifestyle-focused, rooted in skincare, makeup, fashion, confidence, and just that comforting, everyday Millennial-girl vibe.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I honestly consider myself incredibly blessed. Putting yourself out there on social media takes a certain kind of hutzpah—you’re opening yourself up to criticism and judgment. That kind of vulnerability isn’t easy, but deep down, I knew that if I didn’t take a chance on this, I’d be walking away from a major opportunity. What keeps me going—especially when I’m drained from my 9–5 or not feeling particularly creative—is the belief that I’m capable of doing great things and achieving even my wildest dreams.
When you’re just starting out, consistency is everything. For me, that means posting 3 to 5 times a day to get my face out there, build connections, and create momentum with like-minded people. At the end of the day, the only thing that can truly stand in the way of my success is me. That’s the mindset I try to share with my community, too: that we’re all capable of achieving whatever we want—once we let go of our limiting beliefs and stop standing in our own way.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
When I’m not working my corporate job in the social media tech world, I’m all-in on content creation. I consider myself a micro-influencer, primarily on TikTok, where my content lives in the lifestyle space—rooted in skincare, makeup, fashion, confidence, and that comforting, everyday Millennial-girl vibe. Over the past 3–4 months, I’ve built a growing community of like-minded individuals who come to my page for content that feels both informative and comforting.
I like to think of my TikTok as a digital diary. It’s where I share not only tips and recommendations but also pieces of my personality and what I’m currently navigating in life. Right now, I’m in my “blooming era”—focusing on becoming the best version of myself in 2025. That might look like prioritizing my mental health, building better habits, or simply sharing a cute work-from-home outfit. Through it all, I’m documenting my journey in hopes of inspiring others along the way.
What I love most is that I get to show up as my full self—whatever that looks like that day. Some days, I’m your big sister giving you the pep talk you didn’t know you needed. Other days, I’m testing a new mascara or crowdsourcing opinions on which Madewell pants to keep. My content isn’t about talking at people; it’s about creating a genuine dialogue with my community.
I hear from girls almost every day who tell me my content encouraged them to dress for themselves, build healthier routines, or even take the leap and post their first TikTok. And honestly? If I never got a brand deal, was never invited on a trip, or recognized by a favorite brand—knowing I’ve made a real impact in someone’s life? That’s more than enough for me. And it’s something I’m truly proud of.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something people might not realize—because it’s not super obvious from my content—is that I’m actually a natural introvert. I feel the most recharged and centered when I have time to myself. Don’t get me wrong, I love being social and spending time with friends, but at the end of the day, I keep my circle small and genuinely enjoy my own company.
Solo time is something I fully embrace—whether it’s shopping alone, grabbing a bite to eat, or even catching a movie by myself (which is honestly one of my favorite solo dates!). Those quiet moments give me space to reset and reconnect with myself.
