Today we’d like to introduce you to Teresa Bennett-Yates
Hi Teresa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was introduced to the Reiki in 2016 and after seeing its benefits first hand I knew I wanted to dive deeper into this modality. After learning a more westernized “modern” version of reiki I began to feel the pull to explore the more traditional system of reiki and the origins of true Japanese Reiki.
I now have a passion to teach and honor the traditional teachings and practices of Japanese Reiki.
I am equally as passionate to share and teach the art of sound healing with the world.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The most challenging obstacles are finding that there are so many misconceptions of what these modalities actually are and how truly effective they are.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Reiki Master/Teacher as well as a sound therapist. By practicing the system of Reiki I help others to come back to the remembrance of their true self or their divinity.
I have been a vital part of bringing the awareness and effectiveness of these two beautiful modalities to the fore front and making it more “mainstream”. The thing I’m most proud is that Hospice has now recognize these modalities to be beneficial to end of life patients and has asked me to share these gifts with their patients.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Both reiki and sound healing have become very popular over the last few years. As these modalities become more widely accepted and accessible I believe we will begin to see this industry become more saturated in our western medical world.
