Inspiring Conversations with Timothy Beck of NeuroFiT Connections, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Timothy Beck

Hi Timothy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
NeuroFiT Connections story is really Coach Jackie’s story. She is the inspiration and the driving force behind the brand.

Coach Jackie, Co-Founder of NeuroFiT Connections, started her journey to where she is today many years ago when she took leadership training with Mary Morrisey. Those leadership and coaching skills became the foundation for the next chapters in her life.

Fast forward a few years and she became interested in holistic medicine to promote health and healing. Her certifications in some of those healing arts led to her creation of Healing Combinations, a company dedicated to providing natural remedies to those in need.

While building Healing Combinations, Jackie also took a greater interest in her health. In addition to her regular running schedule, she started attending CrossFit, which later led to adult and kids coaching certifications.

While at a CrossFit competition, Jackie was asked to create a healthy protein bar. With that success Tribal Treats was founded to provide healthy protein-based treats to athletes and others with a desire to live their best lives.

More than eight years ago, Jackie started another chapter and began working with kids with neurological issues such as ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, etc. It wasn’t long before she began following and learning from experts in the field such as Dr. Robert Melillo, Gary Leisman, Dr. Peter Scire and others.

It was through her work with these experts that Jackie decided to create NeuroFiT Connections, combining Neurology and Fitness, and developed the program we use today based primarily on the work of Dr. Robert Melillo. It combines the best holistic tools in the world backed by science and research with the latest fitness techniques to solve the root cause of neurological conditions, sync up the hemispheres of the brain, and eliminate or reduce the symptoms.

Now NeuroFiT Connections combines all of her knowledge and skill to create a program that solves today’s most challenging health issues such as Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, and more. To date, we have 100% success in meeting the reasonable goals set forth for our students.

Spend just a few minutes with Coach Jackie and you can see the passion for helping the kids who come through program, you can hear the knowledge, skill, and experience, you can feel her dedication. It’s her passion and her desire to create the best solutions for her students that has her spending many of her non-working hours studying the brain, the body and the connection to developmental issues.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There were many struggles along the way.

To begin with, we had to get our messaging straight. When you meet an insurance person, you know what they do. Your question is how they are different and why you should work with them. Being a developmental disability center that actually reduces or eliminates the symptoms of neurological conditions like Autism, ADHD, and Dyslexia, we are swimming upstream in that most people believe that the best you can do is manage those disorders. To find the right words in the right medium to let people know we have a proven methodology backed by science and research that actually works to treat and resolve the many symptoms of mental, attention, behavioral, and learning disorders like ADHD, ASD, and Dyslexia in a short period of time was a challenge.

Location was also a problem for us initially. Being small and starting out, we shared an office suite with others for a little while. Unfortunately, that arrangement didn’t provide us room to grow.

We also didn’t pick the right partners at first in terms of some of our digital presence, which cost time, money, and potential business.

All of these challenges forced us to rethink our brand and the way we wanted to be perceived. They were learning experiences that made us a better company.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about NeuroFiT Connections, LLC?
NeuroFiT Connections is a company that is looking to put a dent in the growing epidemic of people with neurological issues like ADHD, Autism, Anxiety, learning disorders, behavioral disorders, and processing disorders. This starts with the perception that they are mental health issues. They are neurological conditions that impact many systems in the body.

What sets us apart from most businesses in the field is that we don’t manage the neurological issues we treat, we correct them – without medication or invasive procedures. We use a proven methodology backed by science and research that actually works to treat and resolve the many symptoms of mental, attention, behavioral, and learning disorders.

The NeuroFiT Connections program uses the latest scientific tools and techniques to create new connections in the brains of those with developmental disabilities. These new connections remove or reduce the symptoms of the social, emotional, behavioral, and academic issues our patients face. We firmly believe that every person, regardless of their diagnosis, possesses the potential to succeed!

We custom design a treatment program for each person that is as unique as they are. The first step is to determine the specifics of the issue through an assessment. After a thorough evaluation, we will produce a report that details, in plain English, what we found and our recommendations to correct the root cause of the developmental disability and pave new neuropathways.

For many businesses, WHAT they do is far more important than WHY they do it. For us, our WHY is the reason we get up in the morning.

Built into our DNA and the DNA of every person we work with is the desire to help others, to see them succeed. For people with neurological conditions, success may seem out of the realm of possibility, especially for the more severe cases. All too often, because of their disorders, what holds them back is out of their control. Depending on the severity of their disorder, they may or may not be aware there is a problem. Bottom line, people with neurological issues can’t correct the social, emotional, behavioral, and academic issues they face.

We can. And when we do, we get to see the results in real time:

* Reading where it was impossible before
* Speaking where the brain and body just weren’t communicating
* Being aware of others where that wasn’t even a thought
* Eating properly where eating too much or too little was the norm
* Using the restroom instead of a diaper
* Controlling emotions where that was an impossibility

and so much more

Given the epidemic of people with neurological issues and the global increase in the neurodiverse population, we recognize that we won’t be able to help everyone. And yet, if we can make a dent in the population, if we can correct the social, emotional, behavioral, and academic issues permanently, we have done something wonderful … not only for the people we help, but for their children, grandchildren, and many future generations.

That is WHY we do what we do.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
This is the tale of two people who ended up together, with a common goal, a common purpose.

Growing up, I always wanted to help people. I listened intently to their issues and offered what I could to help them get to where they wanted to be. I had a knack for it, but never actually used that skill in my early life even though I read all the self-help books and great thinkers.

I left UCLA with a degree in computer engineering and, after several stints with various companies, became an IT consultant … which turned into business consulting because my clientele were always mom and pop shops. One night, after dealing with a particular challenging client, I decided to go back to school to get some certifications in various skill sets to help me with the human interaction part. That led me to become a practicing therapist and later get my doctorate.

The skillset I developed from all of this was an innate understanding of how the human brain works from the software side of things. Essentially, I could tell you how and why the wiring works the way it does.

Coach Jackie started her career early in corporate life working for various restaurants as wait staff, then management, then corporate trainer. She stopped all of that to raise her daughter and with the birth of that amazing little girl, Jackie became interested in all thing’s health.

She holds certificates in Bach Flower Essences and Homeopathy. She’s owned a company selling healthy versions of the sugar filled protein bars you see in the supermarkets. She holds a life coaching certificate from Mary Morrisey.

Besides her children, her greatest achievement has been working with neurodivergent kids getting them caught up to their neurotypical peers. – something she started more than eight years ago. And once she started working with kids, she’s never looked back. She has a unique talent for speaking to people of any age, especially children, at their level, meeting them where they are and bringing them up to where they need to be.
