Today we’d like to introduce you to Jay Langlois.
Hi Jay, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Originally from the scenic state of New Hampshire, I made the exciting move to North Carolina in 2020. What started as a fresh chapter quickly became home, as I found myself drawn to the energy, diversity, and sense of community in the Triangle. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of building meaningful connections across the region — both personally and professionally.
In 2023, I joined Navigate Realty and hit the ground running. That first year was filled with growth, learning, and a lot of hard work — which led to being named Rookie of the Year. The momentum continued into 2024 when I was honored to receive the Top Producer award out of nearly 200 agents across our Triangle firm. With over 40 homes bought and sold since 2023, my focus remains the same: delivering a thoughtful, personalized experience for every client.
Real estate isn’t just about transactions — it’s about people, goals, and timing. I take the time to truly understand what matters most to my clients and tailor the entire process to fit their needs.
Outside of work, you’ll find me staying active, traveling, or exploring all the amazing food, parks, and experiences the Triangle has to offer. I’m also a big fan of a good book and spending quality time with my two pups, Sloane and Finley.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road — and I think that’s true for anyone who’s really pushing to grow in this business. Starting a real estate career in a competitive market like the Triangle is no small challenge, especially coming in as a new agent in 2023. I had to work hard to build trust, and prove myself quickly — all while learning how to balance the fast pace of real estate with providing truly personalized service.
There were moments early on when deals fell through, clients got cold feet, or things just didn’t go as planned. But every one of those setbacks pushed me to be better — to refine my process, improve communication, and really double down on the level of care I bring to every client relationship.
The road hasn’t always been easy — it’s taken consistency, late nights, and a lot of lessons learned along the way. But that’s what’s made the success even more meaningful, and it’s fueled my passion for helping others navigate their own real estate journeys with confidence
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a full-time real estate agent based in the Triangle area of North Carolina, proudly working with Navigate Realty. I specialize in residential real estate — helping both buyers and sellers navigate one of the biggest decisions of their lives with clarity, strategy, and confidence.
What I’m most proud of is the trust I’ve earned in a short time. Since joining Navigate in 2023, I’ve had the opportunity to help over 40 families buy or sell their homes. Being recognized as Rookie of the Year and later as a Top Producer in 2024 wasn’t just about numbers — it was a reflection of consistency, care, and a commitment to getting results for the people I serve.
What sets me apart is my approach. I treat every client relationship with the same level of attention I’d give a close friend or family member. I believe real estate should never feel transactional — it should feel personal. My clients know I’m responsive, detail-oriented, and 100% in their corner from our first conversation to closing day and beyond.
I also pride myself on staying grounded and approachable. I don’t use pressure tactics, and I never push someone to make a move that doesn’t feel right. Instead, I focus on being a resource — someone who shows up, adds value, and helps clients feel empowered every step of the way.
At the end of the day, nothing beats the moment a client closes on a home they love or sells a property with peace of mind. That’s what drives me every day.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The quality that I believe has been most important to my success is consistency — in how I show up for my clients, how I follow through on commitments, and how I approach every part of this business. Real estate can be unpredictable, fast-paced, and full of highs and lows, but I’ve found that staying consistent — with communication, work ethic, and client care — builds trust and delivers results over time.
I may not always be the loudest voice in the room, but I’m someone people can count on. Whether it’s a late-night question, a last-minute showing, or a complicated negotiation, my clients know I’ll be there, prepared and focused. That steady presence has helped me build strong relationships and earn the kind of trust that leads to referrals, repeat business, and long-term success.
At the end of the day, homes may be the product, but this business is about people — and I’ve found that consistency is what creates confidence, both for my clients and for myself.
