Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica & Gabe Jessica Yackley And Gabe Dickens.

Hi Jessica & Gabe, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Funny story, but our business, Lighthouse, actually started in a tent at a Farmers Market on a farm in Franklinton, NC. Truly humble beginnings! We started off by setting up there and seeing patients for several hours on Saturday mornings. We harshed the summer elements surrounded by open air, plants, wandering chickens, cows, occasional yelling goats; all while usually being barefoot, helping patients get well.

We started this way because finding the right brick and mortar space was a challenge. We looked for about a year and couldn’t find the right landing spot so we started at the farm while continuing our search! Looking back starting there was a huge blessing. We got to start with such low overhead and we were building our tight-knit, holistic community ahead of opening our brick and mortar. We opened up at our first location in Youngsville, NC in the late Fall of 2023. There things quickly grew over the proceeding year and we had to upgrade to a bigger space in Wake Forest, NC. We just moved into this new space in late Fall of 2024. We’ve been growing even more since our move!

We believe there are several things that make our business, Lighthouse, very different and unique. First, our services: we offer a 100% natural, holistic approach to health for the whole family. We combine functional medicine and chiropractic care in one space to get to the root of health issues and help the body heal naturally! Second, our mission: we named our business “Lighthouse” for two main reasons. We are trying to be a light for Jesus in the world AND we are trying be a light/beacon of hope for natural health- guiding those who are trying to restore their health. Another main thing that makes us unique is our two doctors, Jess and Gabe are not just business partner, but (recently engaged) life partners as well! Our community really seem to like that part, haha.

We now still see many of our initial patients from the farm in Franklinton and every once in a while we even head back there on a Saturday to relive the glory days 😉

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For one, finding the right landing spot was a struggle as previously mentioned. It took us about a year to find the first brick and mortar location. And it definitely was not near where we were initially searching! Once we got established there we grew very fast, which brought along some difficulties. We had only two rooms at this location- one big open room and one office/consult room. We used the big room for chiropractic and the office for new patient appointments and functional medicine consults. Thus, we (Jess and Gabe) had to switch places and take turns in the office/consult room for our consults. This created some fun scheduling difficulties we had to work through. After just being at this location for a year only, we had to grow out of the space in the Fall of 2024 to something bigger already and moving a business isn’t too fun. OH, and did we mention we had to move our personal house twice in 2024 too?! That’s a whole other story. With our business search this time, we were blessed to find an AMAZING space in Wake Forest that has been great.

We believe we are at the edge of a New Wave of Healthcare. Lighthouse, is very unique business that offers a 100% natural, holistic approach to health for the whole family. We offer both functional medicine and chiropractic care in one space which really sets us apart from many other healthcare businesses in the Triangle. We focus on getting to the root cause of health issues. We are not just symptoms-focused, but we try to help the body truly heal so that you can become healthy and stay healthy. Our vision is to empower families to change their own lives through healthy living, and to inspire this change across generations.

We do see the whole family, including newborns at our office! Instead of using medications and pharmaceuticals at our office, we use herbs, supplements, chiropractic, and food recommendations to help support the body to heal. We do specialized testing like gut health testing, food allergy testing, hormonal testing, mold testing, advanced bloodwork, and more. Families come to us if they are seeking “holistic” practitioners who use a natural approach and see the body as a whole! Some other services we offer are a Concussion prevention program, Deep tissue laser therapy (Class IV laser), and Vibration plate therapy.

What are your plans for the future?
We currently have a couple things in the mix, like always! We are almost done developing our Concussion Prevention Program which will be the first of it’s kind in the Triangle. This will be using technology that some NFL teams and top ranked college sports teams recently started using. We also are in the process of growing our team and adding more team members! As we grow we are also looking for ways to give to and serve the local community. We are keeping our eyes and ears open for opportunities.
