My name is Nadia Winfield, and I’m a full-time licensed North Carolina Realtor with AlmaJAnnie Realty, proudly serving the Triad, Charlotte, Raleigh, Durham, and surrounding areas.

Real estate wasn’t always part of my plan. In fact, my background is far from it. As a child, I dreamed of becoming a pediatrician—driven by a passion to help others and make a meaningful difference in the world of healthcare. As I pursued that dream into adulthood, I found myself navigating the long, complex path to “status” in the medical field—the kind that allows you to truly make impactful decisions. Despite building my resume and climbing the ladder, something inside me still felt unfulfilled.

That moment of clarity came after the premature birth of my child. Life shifted. I stepped away from healthcare and began searching for a new purpose—one that would allow me to make a difference, build a legacy, and balance life as a stay-at-home mom and entrepreneur. For a while, I sat with the fear of starting something new. But eventually, I took a leap of faith and enrolled in a pre-licensing real estate course. And as cliché as it sounds—the rest is history.

Now, I’ve found my calling in real estate. I’ve opened myself up to new opportunities outside the traditional 9-to-5 world, and in doing so, I’ve discovered not only a career—but a mission. While building generational wealth for my own family is important, my ultimate goal is to help others do the same—whether it’s through purchasing their first home, upgrading, or beginning their investment journey.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Pursuing and actively practicing real estate has, overall, been a rewarding journey. While the road has felt smooth in many ways, I’d be lying if I said fear doesn’t creep in from time to time—because the truth is, not everything comes easily. I’ve come to accept that, and instead of letting fear hold me back, I put in the work, stay committed, and trust the process. With God, my family, and my close friends cheering me on, I’ve learned that fear has no lasting place in my mind. I intentionally focus on staying positive, grounded, and driven—knowing that success is not just a destination but a result of showing up every day with purpose.

My goal is to serve every client with joy, integrity, and dedication. Whether it’s helping someone buy their first home, sell a beloved property, or invest for the future, I strive to ensure that each experience is smooth, supportive, and memorable.

One of the biggest challenges I face is balancing two full-time roles: being a mother and being a full-time Realtor. Both demand nearly every hour of the day, and while I do have a wonderful village I can lean on, I’m also mindful that everyone has their own responsibilities and lives. There are moments I’ve had to miss a networking event to be with my family, and other times I’ve missed family time to meet the needs of a client. Finding that balance has been—and continues to be—a real challenge.

As my mother always reminds me, “You can’t pour from an empty cup.” That wisdom has stayed with me and pushed me to prioritize balance, rest, and structure. Creating a schedule and setting boundaries has helped tremendously, and while I’m still learning and growing, I’m proud of how far I’ve come.

This journey is not about perfection—it’s about purpose, progress, and people. And I’m grateful for every step I’ve taken to get here.
