My journey into event planning began unexpectedly with my godmother’s wedding in June 2022, a beautiful surprise rooted in her recollection of my imaginative childhood. This experience ignited a passion that was further fueled by the exhilarating challenge of planning my own wedding in under a week. The intensity, the intricate planning, the vendor collaborations – it all resonated deeply. Launching Kennedy Events has been a labor of love, marked by both triumphs and tough lessons. Remembering my “why” and with the unwavering support of loved ones and leaning on the wisdom of mentors reminds me that resilience and the willingness to learn from setbacks are essential to achieving my goals and continuing to drive Kennedy Events forward.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The path to building a thriving event planning business has been incredibly rewarding, though not always seamless. One significant early lesson was understanding that maintaining professional boundaries is essential, even with personal connections. Requests for free services or unreasonable discounts, and the occasional unwarranted refund claim, tested my resolve. While these situations could feel disheartening, they ultimately fostered resilience and reinforced the importance of clear communication and pricing structures. Learning to articulate my value and confidently decline inappropriate requests has been vital for the integrity and growth of my business.

As the owner and lead planner at Kennedy Events, I orchestrate seamless and memorable experiences, specializing in personalized weddings, intimate celebrations, and corporate events with a creative flair. I’m known for my meticulous attention to detail, my ability to translate a client’s vision into a tangible reality, and my calm and resourceful demeanor under pressure. I’m most proud of the genuine connections I forge with my clients and the joy they express when their event exceeds their expectations. If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
For me, active listening and genuine empathy are paramount to my success in event planning. It goes beyond just hearing what a client says; it’s about understanding their underlying desires, their personal stories, and the emotions tied to their event. This deep understanding informs every decision I make, ensuring the event is not just logistically sound but also deeply meaningful and reflective of their personality.
