Conversations with Dina Husseini

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dina Husseini.

Hi Dina, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Everything I’ve done has, in some way, been about stories.

My path began in the world of psychology and corporate consulting, spending over a decade leading training programs, coaching teams, and editing a leadership magazine. But the writer in me was constantly tugging at my sleeve.

Over time, I became a Book Coach and Editor, helping authors shape their stories, refine their voices, and bring their visions to life. This has been some of the most meaningful work I’ve ever done. Still, I knew I wanted to go further, and do what I loved. That’s why I created REELM Studios: a passion project turned full-on mission.

REELM Studios is about preserving the soul of great books capturing exactly what the story is and transforming them into powerful films that honor their original essence. It’s more than a production studio. It’s a storytelling revolution. At the same time, I’m exploring a platform where writers can showcase their stories too—giving them space to be seen, felt, and experienced.

It’s a bold vision, yes. But that’s exactly why I’m chasing it. Stories have the power to connect, to change, to heal. And through REELM Studios, I want to give them a global stage.

And the best part? I’m just getting started.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have been plenty of bumps. Some that shook me. Some that reshaped me. One of the biggest challenges has been starting over, multiple times. Shifting from corporate consulting into creative work meant letting go of a stable, familiar path and stepping into something personal and often misunderstood.

Building REELM Studios has brought its own set of obstacles: from limited resources and technical challenges to skepticism about whether an independent studio could ever compete with global giants.

I’ve had to learn everything from production logistics to pitching a vision that feels “too big” for some to grasp, but I believe in it because I see the impact stories can have when they’re done right.

And like many creatives, I’ve wrestled with imposter syndrome. I wonder if my voice mattered, or if my vision was too ambitious. But I’ve come to understand that fear and self-doubt are just part of the process.

In the end, every struggle doesn’t have to be smooth to be meaningful. It has to just be.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a storyteller and a Book Coach and Editor.

I specialize in making sure the heart of the story always shines through. What I’m known for is my ability to bring soul to the writing process. I don’t just edit for grammar or flow, I dive into the emotional architecture of the story. Clients often tell me that I “see the book before it’s even written” which I take as the highest compliment.

Beyond the page, I’m the founder and CEO of REELM Studios: my boldest and proudest venture yet. REELM Studios is a filmmaking studio with a mission to adapt books into films while keeping their original essence intact. We’re not just making movies: we’re preserving the story, giving readers the chance to see what they read in the book on the screen.

What sets me apart is the way I understand stories from the inside out in the mind of the writer. I never lose sight of why stories matter in the first place because they connect us.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my most cherished childhood memories is spending time with my great-grandmother. She used to tell my brother and me incredible stories from her youth full of love and wisdom.

One day, we went on a walk through the streets near her home and ended up in a little park nearby. It turned into a spontaneous adventure: we fed ducks, played on the rides, and for a few magical hours, got to experience the world through her eyes.

On our way back, we asked for ice cream, and without hesitation, she took us to the local market to get some. Not long after that, she began to change, and I now understand it was the beginning of her decline.

That memory reminds me of the power of storytelling that the way a single day can live in your heart forever. It’s one of the reasons I do what I do now: to keep stories alive before they fade.
