Kyndall Gracyn shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Kyndall, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
The thing I’m most proud of building is my inner peace. On the outside, my life looks busy, and it is! However, behind the scenes I’ve been putting in just as much effort into my mental and emotional well-being as I have into my business. I’ve worked hard to stop comparing my journey to others, to ease the urge to overthink what others might be saying or feeling about me, and to let go of the need to be perceived a certain way. It’s been about learning to be at peace right where I am, trusting my own timing, and allowing myself to move forward with clarity and confidence
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Kyndall Gracyn, the founder of Gracyn Glow Co., a mobile and in-salon spray tanning brand rooted in the belief that sunless care is both skincare and self-care. I am known for my warm, “girl’s girl” energy and passion for mental health, I am building more than just a beauty business, I’ve created a safe, uplifting space where women can feel confident, cared for, and celebrated. My brand’s tagline, “Be Responsibly Bronzed,” reflects my mission to help clients achieve a flawless, natural glow while prioritizing skin health and sun safety. Beyond spray tanning, I aspire to expand my offerings with an innovative aftercare product line, incorporate new services to elevate the spray tanning experience. At the heart of it all, my work is about empowering women to prioritize themselves, embrace their beauty, and leave each appointment glowing inside and out.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
Bonds break when people try to shape your life to fit their expectations, forgetting that we’re all on different paths. They’re restored when someone not only sees your journey but truly accepts it; and when you surround yourself with those who celebrate your story, even if it’s not the same as theirs.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You are not too much and you are not not enough. The things you feel deeply about now will one day be the reason people trust you with their own hearts. Don’t shrink yourself to fit into someone else’s comfort zone. The world will try to tell you to be quieter, smaller, easier to digest, don’t listen. Your softness is not weakness, your boundaries are not selfish, and your dreams are not unrealistic. Everything you’re searching for: peace, belonging, love; is already inside you. One day you’ll be the safe space you always needed. Keep going, she’s waiting for you.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The beauty industry has long pushed the idea that beauty is one-size-fits-all, holding up a narrow standard while making women feel like they have to mold themselves to fit it. It teaches us to see aging as something to fight rather than a privilege to embrace, keeping us chasing youth like it’s the only currency of worth. And while many brands claim inclusivity, it sometimes feels more like a seasonal marketing trend than a true commitment to representation. What’s missing is the truth, that beauty has never just been about how you look. Real beauty is the way you carry yourself, the energy you radiate, and how you feel in your own skin. That can’t be bottled or filtered. That’s why I created Gracyn Glow: to give women a moment to reconnect with themselves, celebrate the skin they’re in, and let their inner glow shine outward. Spray tanning isn’t about changing who you are: it’s about enhancing the you that already exists, making self-care feel luxurious, empowering, and entirely yours.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What will you regret not doing?
The thing I would regret most in my business is holding back on my ideas. Letting fear or hesitation stop me from creating something new, something that could truly change the game. I’ve learned that waiting for the “perfect moment” or for everything to feel safe only leaves dreams on the shelf. I refuse to let that happen. My ideas, my vision, and my passion deserve to be brought to life, and I’m done letting doubt dictate what I put into the world.
