We’re looking forward to introducing you to Veda Spidle. Check out our conversation below.
Veda, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I’m feeling called to step more fully into offering BhaktiBreath, a method I’ve created that weaves together several holistic modalities into one integrated experience. In the past, I’ve shared these elements separately, but now I feel ready to unite them as a complete path. Rooted in my upbringing in the tradition of Bhakti Yoga and expanded by over a decade of continual study, both my personal practice and the way I guide my clients have evolved to embrace the many layers of yoga. As a certified yoga therapist, I hold a deep love for breath-centered and devotional practices, and my life’s work is in guiding others back to themselves through this sacred, heart-led practice.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Since my last interview, life has brought some big and beautiful changes. I moved from Phoenix, AZ, to Greensboro, NC, where I now run my private practice, Sama Integrative Wellness (inside The Pear Tree), as a certified yoga therapist. In this work, I offer private sessions for individuals and corporate clients in yoga, yoga therapy, breath therapy, breathwork, sound healing, and more.
I also teach weekly at Radiance Yoga Greensboro, lead monthly classes at Refuge Healing Studio, and travel semi-annually to Surya Yoga in Phoenix for specialty offerings. Additionally, I am one of the four founders of the Greensboro Holistic Collective – an organization dedicated to connecting holistic businesses, practitioners, and the community.
In everything I do, the common thread is guiding others toward alignment between their inner and outer worlds. One of my most exciting updates is the upcoming BhaktiBreath Retreat in fall 2026 – an integrative experience designed to reset the nervous system and help people reconnect with their truest selves.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I’m releasing the part of me that feared fully stepping into my own name within the world of yoga and wellness. For years, I hesitated to use it, worried it might make the work feel centered on me rather than on the practice itself – the truth that healing always comes from within. That caution kept me in a safe bubble of studying, learning, and preparing. It served its purpose, but this year I’ve come to see that my soul is woven into my life’s work. To share these practices is to share myself, and I’m ready to honor that. Now, I step forward with trust, guiding others through their own inner landscapes as I continue to journey through my own.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d say that – you might be teased for your name, your plant-based lifestyle, or your perspectives on life – but one day, those will be the very things people are curious about and drawn to. What makes you different will become what makes you shine.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
I do believe the public version of me is the real me. It is a core value of mine that if you come to me as a client, a student…if we cross paths at the grocery store or at a 4-way stop, you’re getting the same person as you do when we’re in class or a session.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I was kind, attentive, and truly present. That I showed up for others the way I showed up for myself, with compassion, care, and thoughtfulness. That I did the work on my own shortcomings and allowed myself to be seen. That I was a cheerleader for many, and that everyone I crossed paths with knew they mattered.
