Amya Janine shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Amya , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
For me, integrity is the most important. Intelligence can be taught, energy can be fueled, but integrity is who you are at your core. It’s how you show up when nobody’s watching, and it’s the foundation of trust, leadership, and purpose. I’d rather build with someone who stands on truth than someone who’s just smart or driven.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey y’all, I’m Amya Janine — a multi-passionate creative, entrepreneur, and the founder of The Don Agency, where we specialize in brand strategy, creative direction, and marketing that actually moves the culture forward. I’m also the owner of TDA Modeling Agency, where we’re focused on building confidence, community, and career paths for rising talent.
What makes my journey unique is that everything I’ve built comes from a real place of purpose. I’m passionate about helping people show up fully in their gifts — whether that’s through launching a brand, telling their story, or stepping in front of the camera.
Right now, I’m working on expanding both of my brands, taking on more impact-driven projects, and building spaces for creatives, entrepreneurs, and creators to feel seen, supported, and successful.
This is only the beginning — stay tuned.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that constantly seeks validation from others has served its purpose. It once helped me stay aware, stay driven, and stay “liked” — but now, it only holds me back from showing up fully and freely. I’m releasing the need for approval and choosing alignment over acceptance.
Everything meant for me will recognize me as I am.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me patience, resilience, and self-awareness in a way success never could. It forced me to sit with myself, confront my patterns, and find strength in silence. While success can boost your confidence, suffering builds your character. It taught me how to keep going when nothing made sense — and how to trust God even in the dark.
Without the suffering, I wouldn’t have the depth, compassion, or clarity I carry today.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is real, but it’s not all of me. It’s the polished, purpose-driven version — the part that leads, creates, and inspires. But the full me? She’s layered. She has quiet moments, private battles, and soft spaces most people never see.
I’ve learned that I can be real without being fully revealed — and that’s my power.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m in alignment — when my spirit is still, my mind is clear, and I’m not chasing anything or proving anything. It’s those quiet moments when I’m praying, creating, or just sitting in gratitude that remind me I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.
Peace, for me, isn’t a place — it’s a presence.
