We recently had the chance to connect with Derrick Tré and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Derrick, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What battle are you avoiding?
The battle I’m avoiding is trying to do everything at once. I’m passionate about creating and building, but I know if I spread myself too thin, nothing gets the level of excellence I expect. So I’m choosing to focus my energy where it counts most, and trust that the rest will fall into place.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Derrick Tré, The Lifestyle Architect. I create and curate experiences across fashion, lifestyle, and culture with the intention of helping people live boldly and intentionally. My brand is about more than aesthetics—it’s about alignment, designing spaces, moments, and narratives that feel elevated, impactful, and unforgettable. Right now, I’m focused on rebranding and expanding my vision into a lifestyle platform built on the idea that everything—style, culture, and success—is all by design.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
I’d say it was the people around me who noticed my presence before I even knew what to call it. Colleagues, family, and friends often pointed out that I had a way of commanding a room or bringing ideas to life. I didn’t realize then that it was vision—that I was already shaping narratives. Now, I see that they were simply calling out the Lifestyle Architect in me before I was ready to own it.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain when I realized it was part of my design. For a long time, I thought strength meant pretending everything was perfect, but I’ve learned that transparency—on my terms—is where my real power comes from. Every setback became a blueprint, and instead of letting it break me, I use it to build. That shift taught me that pain doesn’t define me—it refines me.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say what really matters to me is alignment—living in a way where my actions, my vision, and my energy all connect. They know I care deeply about creating meaningful experiences, not just for myself but for the people around me. For me, it’s never been about doing the most, it’s about doing what feels intentional and impactful.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I was intentional—that I lived life by design, not default. That I inspired others to step into their own power, create boldly, and embrace their story. My legacy isn’t just about what I built, but how I made people feel: seen, inspired, and capable of more.
