We’re looking forward to introducing you to Da’Neesha Mackerway. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Da’Neesha , thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Integrity is more important in both personal and professional settings, It helps build credibility, strengthen trust, create healthier, more meaningful connections..
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Daneesha, and I am the founder and lead stylist of Flawless Braids by D, a brand built on creativity, precision, and a true passion for hairstyling. Braiding has always been more than just a service for me—it’s an art form and a way to empower people to feel confident, beautiful, and flawless in their own skin.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
From a young age, I learned the value of hard work from my mother, who showed me the importance of dedication, consistency, and always putting your best into everything you do. Those lessons are the foundation of my brand today.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Building a service-based clientele is not easy. It takes hard work, late nights, early mornings, and a lot of dedication. The hair industry is forever changing and evolving and I have times where I might think I should’ve chosen another career. I continue to pursue my dreams and goals.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
“If you’re talented, clients will automatically come.”
– The truth: talent is only half of it. Marketing, consistency, customer service, and building relationships are what sustain a clientele.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
I believe that my clients would miss our conversations and quality service. I’ve built some wonderful, genuine relationships over the years.
