We’re looking forward to introducing you to Juliana De Giacometti Vitti. Check out our conversation below.
Juliana, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Outside of work, I’ve been soaking up every moment with my daughter as she heads into her senior year, it’s equal parts exciting and bittersweet. I also find joy in the little routines, like cooking at home, playing pickleball with friends, and taking care of my many plants. And my two cats make sure there’s always a little chaos to keep life interesting.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Juliana, the person behind Giacometti Vitti Design. I help people create homes that feel beautiful, comfortable, and personal, without the pressure of having to spend a fortune. I believe good design should be approachable and reflect the people who live in it, so I love blending modern aesthetics with warmth, character, and a touch of boldness.
My story is a little unconventional. I’ve lived in different countries and cultures, and that shaped the way I see design, versatile, eclectic, but always rooted in real life. I know what it feels like to make a house into a home over and over again, and I bring that empathy into every project. What makes my work unique is that I don’t just design for clients, I design with them. For me, it’s not about perfection, it’s about creating spaces where families actually want to live, laugh, and build memories.
Right now, I’m especially excited about projects that breathe new life into everyday spaces and prove that thoughtful design doesn’t just change the way a home looks, it changes the way it feels to live in it
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
I grew up in a small town in Brazil, and if you had told that girl she’d one day live in places like Tokyo, she would have never believed it. Every move along the way has shaped me, teaching resilience, opening my eyes to new cultures, and reminding me there’s no single way to live a beautiful life. What I’ve learned is that home isn’t about geography or walls, it’s about the feeling you create inside. That perspective has stayed with me and deeply influences the way I see the world and the way I design.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d tell my younger self to stop doubting so much, life will take you farther than you can imagine. Be brave, stay curious, and let joy lead the way. And for goodness’ sake, eat the cake.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say I’m loyal and funny, and they’d probably mention my sarcasm too. I love big and keep my circle small but strong. They’d also say I take way too many pictures. But most importantly, they remind me, often, that I’m not as hard or as bad as I can judge myself to be, and I’m grateful for that.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
If I knew I had 10 years left, I’d stop being my own harshest critic. I’d quit picking myself apart for not doing enough, not being enough, or not looking a certain way. The truth is, I already have what matters, family, friends, laughter, and work I love. I wouldn’t waste another minute worrying about the extra pounds, the wrinkles, or the bad hair days. I’d rather spend that time fully present, traveling, playing pickleball, making memories, and enjoying the people I love. I’d order dessert every single time… and maybe spend those years tucked away in the mountains by a lake in Italy.
