Tearra , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I am currently being called to walk in faith! As a person of faith, I am being challenged to bet on me 100%. In this phase of my life, there are no back up plans. I am fully trusting in the plan that God has for my life.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi I’m Tearra, founder and chief executive of Sauce Worthy Media Group, a growing media agency, which specializes in delivering a comprehensive digital media production experience.
What makes us unique, is we allow our clients to customize a plan based on where they are in their creative process.
As a business owner, we understand the pressure of having to work in the business and on it at the same time. Producing high quality content, while strategizing to promote it can be stressful.
That’s why we encourage you to allow us to handle the production, so you don’t have to!
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was a girl who had BIG dreams! The sky was the limit for me. I was very fearless. I had this uninhibited view of the world. There was nothing in this world that I didn’t think I could achieve. At some point I stopped betting on me and got comfortable with the status quo. The world made me play it safe and go the “practical” route. As of today, I’m leaning into who I used to be, in order to become who I know I am destined to be.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self to chase your dreams and not let others view of the world and what’s attainable to them discourage you from blazing my your path. Follow the path less traveled and bet on yourself ALWAYS!
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
What you see is what you get when it comes to me. I pride myself on being transparent in not only my successes, but also my shortcomings. I hope that every part of my story, even the ugly parts can inspire someone else along their journey.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Have you ever gotten what you wanted, and found it did not satisfy you?
Before I became a full time entrepreneur, my biggest goal was to land a corporate level marketing position. I was told that was what success was. You go to college. You get your degree. And then secure a position that allows you to use that degree. I wanted it so bad! And I did accomplish that. But once I got it, the fulfillment was short lived.
I quickly found myself bound by compliance, and not able to stretch myself to my full potential. My light was being dimmed, and my will was being destroyed.
