Hannah Davis shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Hannah, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
Currently I feel I’m being called to full-time entrepreneurship and to lean into some new industries in my field. In April I left a part-time position I had for the last few years so I could focus on my business more seriously.
I felt God was calling me to make the shift, so I started planning and took the leap of faith. It’s been challenging, but so rewarding in teaching me more about myself as a business owner.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Hannah Davis, owner and creative director of HD Visuals. We’re a photography, videography, and aerial company specializing in capturing special moments, branding, events, and so much more. We’ve been in business for six years now.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
Being a kind person, I often consider different perspectives, which is beneficial but can sometimes lead to people-pleasing. As I’ve matured and focused on healthy boundaries, I’ve shifted towards supporting those I care about, balancing my involvement with my own well-being and prioritizing self-care as much as possible.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering has taught me many valuable lessons. The most significant one is that no bad season lasts forever. These challenging times help us appreciate and cherish future blessings. They also cultivate patience, compassion, and empathy, allowing us to connect with others who are going through similar experiences.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
They would likely say that achieving the legacy I’ve always envisioned for myself is most important. This includes cultivating my relationship with God, growing my business, and, in the future, building a family.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
Without a doubt, I’m doing what I was born to do: be creative and work for myself. Many people have opinions about how I live my life, but I’ve never had regrets, only lessons learned and adaptations made.
