Antrell McLean shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Antrell, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
After I get my children off to school, I usually take time to pray. My church has a prayer line Monday through Friday at 7am. I usually engage in prayer, and then take time to focus on my metal and physical health. My routine during summer months is the same, minus getting the kids ready for class.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Antrell McLean, and I am the founder of GHME Films. For me, this isn’t just a business — it’s a calling. I started GHME Films with one goal in mind: to use the power of media to tell stories that matter and to help people see their vision come to life.
What makes GHME Films different is the heart behind what we do. I believe every story, whether it’s a church service, a wedding, a music video, or a documentary, carries a deeper meaning — and it deserves to be told with care, creativity, and excellence. My passion is not just in holding a camera, but in capturing the emotion, the message, and the impact that moments are meant to leave behind.
I also believe in equipping others. GHME Films doesn’t just show up, film, and leave — we empower. I take pride in training and coaching churches, small businesses, and individuals to use media as a tool to grow, connect, and inspire. At the end of the day, it’s not just about creating content — it’s about building community and sparking change.
At GHME Films, we’re not here to simply stand out — we’re here to make a difference.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
My father taught me the most about work. I think back on growing up and not understanding the lessons he was teaching me until I got older. I watched my father go to work everyday while getting his real estate license. Be the super for his rental properties on the weekends, while serving in the US National Guard. I often think about times he would make me go with him to fix something at a property, and all I wanted to do was stay at home and play video games. I didn’t realize back then that he was showing me what entrepreneurship looked like, and how to be successful in it. It made total sense when I became an entrepreneur myself.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would quote 1 Corinthians 8:2 (NIV) to myself, which says “Those who think they know something do not yet know as they ought to know.” In life we learn through experiences, and I thought I had experienced a lot. in order to truly understand life, you must live it, and experience the different seasons of it that we all go through.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
I am who I appear to be. This was something that was always important to me. especially with social media, the persona we see online is who we feel the person is. Actors/actresses portray characters in movies and television, that character doesn’t always represent who that person truly is. I never wanted to have to become 2 versions of myself, rather than to evolve the person I am. If I am who God intended for me to be, then my light will shine bright and attract the people and clients He intends for me to interact with.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel the most at peace with my family. When I surround myself with genuine people and the people who love you most. Ive learned this is the type of wealth that can’t be produced with money or things. My kids will remember the time I spent enjoying life with them rather than the things I bought. When we transition from the earth, our possessions can’t be taken with us, but the memories we leave with our loved ones will be cherished forever.
